!!!! I have been BLESSED this week!!! 🥰 thank you!!! I’m so excited, idk these artists so I’ll do a nice little listening sesh and share my first impressions!

Green Eyes :: Siena-

This is so pretty, sweet and slow. I just wrote them slow dancing to a record in Consonance and this could very well be that record. It sounds like a love song Tav would write for her 😭 it’s somber and aching and so pretty!

I love the idea of Tav nicknaming her “green eyes” 🥰 something about the whole song is just romantic and sweet, it’s what she deserves!!!

I think it fits both playlists so I’ll tag it accordingly!

Meet Me in the Woods:

Ooh if there were ever a song for Shadowheart/whoever she’s with at the end of her journey, it’s this one 🥰 I like the haunting lyrics juxtaposed against the kinda upbeat tune.

The two lines that jump out to me are:

“How long baby have I been away?

Oh, it feels like ages, though you say it's only days”

And

“I have seen what the darkness does, Say goodbye to who I was. I ain't never been away so long. Don't look back, them days are gone.”

Like okay didn’t know Shadowheart herself was penning lyrics now? So perfect for her arc.

Heavy:

This one feels cathartic 🥹💕 Shadowheart, fresh off losing Shar and her faith, terrified to learn to live again.

It’s this right here that seals it for me

“Are you tired, are you weary, Of the hidden hate you've been holding?And did you lose that love?Or have you never had it? Are you feeling sad 'cause you did a bad thing?”

Shads does indeed have to learn to leave what’s heavy behind, and replace it with love. So touching and really in line with her message as a Selunite.

1. What's your favourite dialogue you have given Shadowheart? 3. What do you think your Shadowheart brings out of your Tav? 18. What do you wish people "got" about Shadowheart?

1.) I think, so far, it would have to be this one:

Shadowheart tried to hide her growing concern behind annoyance. Her voice still shook as she said, "I told you to find better armor."

I can practically hear her saying it, lol.

3.) I think, as the events of the game goes on, Shadowheart's relationship with Stígandr brings out his "submissive in the way a herding dog is submissive to the sheep it kills wolves for" type of loyalty. Stígandr has always had that sort of loyalty to the people he cares for, but it really starts to show with Shadowheart. He's a damned fool for her. He would do anything for her (which comes in conflict with his own Oath sometimes, both in a Dark Justiciar Shads AU and in my main canon for them). And with that, an acceptance of his own lycanthropy. I think he sees her coming to terms with her true self throughout the game and realizes he can do the same.

18.) I know plenty of people DO get it, but I wish more people realized how strong she is. I reblogged a post about it earlier, but Shadowheart has literally been fighting for her own identity her entire life. It just takes being put off her normal course (getting captured by the nautiloid) and separated from the Sharran cloister to finally give her the distance she needs to find herself. Thanks for the ask :) ask me about writing for shadowheart!

How SWEET???????!! The line about laughter reminds me how they ruin their kisses with smiles and are comfortable laughing together when they’re most intimate. Idk it’s just so soft???

And they are each other’s favorite place to be????

Idk I think is wedding material!!! This is exactly what their dynamic is like, I love it so so much.

I adore Consonance so much, finally caught up on A Season to Fall For and I still feel so warm and fuzzy about it 🥰 Do you have any band(s) in mind for what Astral Prism sounds like? (If you answered this before I didn't find it!) In my head they sound like Nothing But Thieves, both musically and because of how variable & emotional their discography is. Also "Forever & Ever More" is a peak pre-Serena Jen x Shar angst track.

🥰 oh this makes me so happy!!!! I’m really glad you’ve enjoyed it so far, and that the autumn oneshot was a nice and cozy read!!! 😄💕 I really enjoy writing their modern dynamic, it feels a touch more relatable, at times!

So AP, in my mind, always carried an early 2000’s metal/alt scene vibe. (Definitely my own bias coloring this opinion 😅)

I didn’t know of Nothing but Thieves (I lived under a rock, I never know shit 😭) but I gave “Forever and Ever More” a listen to see what you mean! Thoughts below:

Whew okay yeah 😅 def an early Consonance song for Jen/Shar. Holy moly, like- every line.

“And she said hey, let’s get away, and I’ll be your new religion baby” 👀

What did you think when you made me this way?

That is crazy accurate for Shar/Jen’s plot and like…the level of indoctrination?

I would LOVE Jen to have written a song like that (maybe even a touch heavier, given AP’s style) about Shar.

Tav will never ever say anything to Jen about it- music is cathartic and she would never dream of censoring Jen. But I think it’d be an interesting dynamic for her to have to perform a song Jen wrote while she was still in Shar’s web of lust and lies, even after they’re through. It’s gotta be a little hard.
