I finally finished Act 2 of BG3, and while I'm romancing Karlach and love her to bits, oh my God I love Shadowheart. I love her quests, I love her dialogue, I love her voice acting.
She just so Illyana coded it's not even funny. Like they would love each other (or kill each other either way).
Next time I play it I'm romancing her because Larian are cowards and didn't let me romance both her and Karlach, even though Shadowheart and Karlach are just as into each other as they are into my Tav.
I will give the designers at WOTC this, they got the like, Wind in the Willows vibes completely on the money with this set. And Magic going from a game that's a lot of either Hardcore Fantasy or Weird Planet of Hats stuff to this is so much more exciting that 'Cowboy World' or 'Detective World'.
Also this rabbit is named Ms. Bumbleflower, and I would die for her.

I'm not going to lie I think the Gambit system in FFXII is one of the best systems for battle automation in like, JRPG history. I totally understand the fear of losing player agency, but in a game like this I don't want to have to micromanage 3 characters in a real-time fight.
It's also a lot of fun to play with overall, like a little puzzle.
