Listening to this and trying to resist the urge to finally get into modular synthesis. I do NOT think I want another absolute money pit of a hobby like that in my life, but it sure is tempting.

He's expensive, but only adds a penny per head. He makes most of his money off of concessions.
Wine and ale mostly. There are some meat pies and usually some fruits as well.
It should cost a fortune. If he lost it or it broke he'd never be able to afford replacing it. But he inherited it, and it's soulbound to him so no one can steal it.
Maybe he's descended from an emperor, or the eccentric head of a merchant house, or the owner of a mithril mine. Someone probably could tell you.
It's a great deal for him. Nice steady income. Not too much competition. And no real reason for anyone to murder him to take it away from him.
