I've been watching "Tidying Up with Marie Kondo" and "Consumed" on Netflix and I was surprised to see that I have used a lot of the same techniques at Marie Kondo when it comes to tidying and decluttering. I pile clothes on the bed in the rare event that I am having a clear-out and for daily folding and putting away. I don't know what the connection is to the bed in terms of KonMari but it just seems easier on the back and on the eye in terms of having clothing on the floor. I categorise my papers but into probably 10 categories rather than the 3 that the KonMari method recommends but I'll definitely be clearing out unecessary and old letters and papers soon. I love boxes much like Marie Kondo, there are boxes in my drawers, boxes that fit perfectly like a jigsaw under my bed where I store shoes in different compartments and I store bags inside bags like she does and I only started watching the series last night but I've been overwhelmed and unmotivated recently and both programmes have given me a boost! I had seen a strikingly similar folding method to the method used in KonMari a couple of years ago on @thismorning and I did it for a while but we accumulated more and more stuff and I'd put it to the back of my mind until I saw it again on Tidying Up. I've always been quite particular folding clothes. Waistbands and leg holes don't go directly on top of each other so as not to cause a bulge in the fold, I fold t-shirts like they're folded in shops.. I even fold boxer shorts like I fold t-shirts but just incorporating the standing of the clothes vertically and the huge clear-out, I made a huge difference. So far, I've done two of my drawers, two of Roy's and two of Logan's and then I sorted through some of the clothes that are too small for both kids and cleared a tonne. I started hours ago, I am more motivated at night but I wouldn't start this late⌚️!
