I honestly have no idea if the poses in these two images are part of the same sequence, as these were drawn somewhere back in 2011. These were part of our weekly, intense life drawing sessions at Folimage, while we were working on the animated feature “Tante Hilda!”. As the film was animated with pen on paper, so were our life drawings done with pens, rather than pencils.

First look at Vanille, by French director Guillaume Lorin. The project will be a 26-minute-long TV special, but a release date has not been confirmed yet. Production is done by Folimage (FR) and Nadasdy Film (CH).

The story takes place on the Carribean island Guadeloupe, where the 9 year old Vanille tries to fit in. The adventure starts when she suddenly meets a strange boy, and together they set out to find a very rare flower.
