Tonight’s song to sing in the rain: The Humours Of Whisky
(Lyrics from Colm R. McGuinness on YouTube/Spotify/Patreon)
I don’t speak to my dad so I can’t ask him, but he’s a guitarist and would play and sing the song Boil Them Cabbage Down (or Bile Them Cabbage Down or Bile Dem Cabbage Down etc) with one of the verses being the poem
“I eat my peas with honey/I done it all my life/Sure makes the peas taste funny/But it keeps them on my knife”
None of the sources I can find of Boil Them Cabbage Down use the poem as a verse, I never heard most of the verses I read today growing up. The poem online is attributed to Ogden Nash and other children’s poems, though the Poetry Foundation attributes it anonymously, possibly indicating an origin in folklore.
I can’t ask my dad where he learned to sing it that way, so does anyone on here know of that poem being sung to that tune?

This vid wont be there since patreon is a good wholesome company that don't take too kindly to my potty mouth.
