In honor of RED TV coming out tomorrow, i thought it was finally time to talk about the album whose photoshoot, red tv got its album cover from :'''') <33333.

So without further ado, let's talk evermore...

I don't know what it means, but from what i remember, dorothea and long story short were the songs that had taylor in her red tv outfit.

for dorothea, i think it's possible that it's because she dated someone in the red era that resembled dorothea's name. starts with a d, ends with an a?

and long story short's the easiest thread since it's "long story short, i survived" after all.

now, time to talk about the things that are exclusively evermore. cause i think one of the primary themes and concepts of evermore is the subject of deception and secrets.

i saw a (imo) GENIUS theory that said that the dude in the willow video was taylor's male persona.

and THEY HAD SO MANY THREADS EXPLAINING IT THAT IT CONVINCED ME.

AND THE FACT THAT SO MANY OTHER HINTS AND THEMES IN THE ALBUM WERE RELATED TO THE SAME THING!

I JUST THINK THE THEORY HOLDS CREDENCE.

AND I MEAN- COME ON. DID NO ONE NOTICE HOW TAYLOR WORE BLUE AND THE DUDE WEAR PINK?

sigh.. but okay, i wanna explain more of the secrets i think are in evermore.

HONESTLY ONE OF THE BIGGEST THINGS THAT CONVINCE ME THAT THE WILLOW THEORY OF TAYLOR ASSUMING A MALE PERSONA IS THE FREAKING FACT THAT THE PSEUDONYM OF HER BEARD IS FREAKING WILL.

the pseudonym of her male persona, the role she puts up to make the songs seem straighter is william bowery.

she had j*e as co-writer to songs that i think would make people think that they were queer.

(BETTY & EXILE, SHE EVEN HAD JUSTIN VERNON SING THE PARTS THAT I THINK TAYLOR WAS TRULY FEELING IMO)

but since her beard was a co-writer... she provided them with the bait ;)

AFTER THE POPULAR MAINSTREAM FOLKLORE WHERE SHE HAS TO LIE AND HIDE AND EXPLAIN AWAY THE GAY

i'm sorry but it just EERILY sounds like taylor was just describing what she was feeling in the second person perspective.

she flipped the script, hid under a persona.

the persona of the person who broke her heart.

and she did the same thing in ivy, where instead of the mistress, she was the woman in the relationship

no matter the hidden secret themes of duplicity and flipped personas in evermore, the most important, poignant, and significant theme of all is ofc, moving on.

and no song says that better, imo, than happiness.

its spotify video was the album cover, after all.

taylor's picture in the album cover, the spotify video for happiness was the camera spinning around taylor in that moment of the album cover photo.

same exact look, clothes, and place.

happiness signified moving on.

if folklore was about being right in the middle of the woods.

being so tiny and absorbed and consumed and lost in it.

being right in the muck of the grief, loss, and heartbreak.

evermore is the next part of that journey, you start to get away from it all. you start to acknowledge the respect you deserved. the pain feels further away and more mundane. you even try to assume & take on what your beloved's side was.

oh but speaking of evermore, i like to think that there's big sweeping era arcs among the eras. so like, debut-fearless-speak now. red-1989-rep. lover-folklore-evermore.

and that every section has special threads. so like the first albums per arc, have a special connection. like debut, red, and lover (which i talk about in my lover's links post).

so evermore is the last album of this current era arc. and, i just adore that it has a connection to one of my favorite albums and songs ever.

And I've kinda in my head, like, calling the girl from "august" either Augusta or Augustine, I've naming her that in my head [...] What happen in my head was, okay, so "cardigan" is Betty's perspective from, like, 20 or 30 years later, looking back on this love that was this tumultous thing. In my head, I think Betty and James ended up together. So, in my head, she ends up with him, but he really put her through it. But, like, "august" was obviously about the girl that James had in the summer wth, right? So she seems like she's a bad girl, but really, she's not a bad girl. She's, like, a really sensitive person who really fell for him. And she was trying to seem cool and seem like she didn't care because that's what girls have to do. And she was trying to let him think that she didn't care but she really did, and she thought they had something very real. And then he goes back to Betty. So the idea that there's some, like, some bad, villain girl in any type of situation who, like, takes your man is actually a total myth because that's not usually the case at all.
