Shop at Leeds Market week is a series of events organised by Friends of Leeds Kirkgate Market, to celebrate the variety and quality of produce that can be found there.
We all find shopping at supermarkets convenient, but is buying over-priced, pre-packaged food on uniform, harshly lit aisles actually enjoyable? We don't think so. We're enthusiastic about the market, and we want other people to be too. There's nowhere else in the city where you can get such varied, fresh and above all affordable stuff of all kinds. But not only that, there's face to face contact with experienced traders willing to share their advice and knowledge.
Shop at Leeds Market week runs from Tuesday 3rd til Saturday 7th of May, culminating on the Saturday with a day packed with activities and goings on. Events will be running throughout the week, including tours of the market with tastings and chats with some of the traders, art, performance, live music and much more!
