The Constant Battle
I have been going through wave - fighting myself whether I should do photography as a career. Ever since I was 16 I want to take picture and had this dream of traveling the world and different Cultures. Well 7 years have gone by and I have traveled seen place "experienced life" but I keep coming back to my camera. Over the years I have sold and bought new cameras current I am just shooting with a Cannon Rebel XS with a 18-55mm lens and recently just obtained my 50mm 1.8, which I am in love with. the thing is I have slowly taught myself over the year learning from mistakes and adapting Technics from High School Black & White photography Class and ot to say I hadn't had some help from some good friends.
Here Is what I believe if you are photographer you should be to take a printable picture without from major or barely adjustment in Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop. I am not saying you shouldn't use these tools I am just saying they are over used. what is the point of owning a DSLR if you spend an hour editing a photo. the craft of photography is nearly non exist If you take a digital photography class they show you the program before they show you how to use you camera. really it should be the other way around I like to think of Lightroom as just as your Darkroom with film photography you my to minor burning here a contrast there but not to completely manipulate a picture ad on top that they wouldn't even let you in a darkroom with out showing you how to use your camera so how did we get where we are today?
(Sorry Basically I ran with that and stopping while I am head.)
what I am getting is this, I am always in a constant battle with myself If I can make it as a photographer. What it comes down to if I took it seriously I think I would be somewhere by now. I am just saying this because I know other people have had the same thought just go for it! I am trying to stay positive with no direction and no schooling.
So hopefully you can follow along inn my journey and new found passion and hope.
