[ 8. ] sender patches up receiver's wounds, hands trembling as they whisper, "you can't keep doing this to me." from belinda … 🤭
It seemed like every time one of them had an emergency, they ended up in the same vicinity as each other — though, more recently than not, it was Buck who ended up in the emergency room where Belinda worked. It was usually minor, a cut that needed stitches or clearance after some bad smoke inhalation, but this time was a little more severe — he'd needed to punch through a window to get through, and the glass cut through his gloves, which cut up his hands. Belinda was his nurse again, but she didn't seem nearly as excited to see him as he was to see her.
Oh. That was why. She seemed — almost upset at him being here today, which shocked him, to say the least. “ Come on, this can't be the worst thing you've ever seen. Just a few stitches, and I'll be good as new. ” Buck seeks her gaze, head tilting slightly. This wasn't even the worst he'd gone through in his whole life! If Belinda knew him before he was a firefighter, he thinks she'd freak out if she thought a cut on his hand was bad. “ 'sides, getting hurt is a risk of the job. I knew that when I signed up. ” He watches her clean his hand, and he wonders if there's something else causing her to be upset. “ I'll be fine. Really. You know i's just part of the job, right? I kind of rescued you from a fire, remember? ”
