〆 — @folkpoet , ❝ i don't feel like being alone tonight. ❞
silence settles within the ghost as those still aboard turn in for the night, leaving kanan to his own devices just outside the ship & beneath the stars. recent battles have left him scarred, forcing him to change how he sees the force to allow him to see again. even if he wouldn't admit it or see it himself, his journey has moulded him into the jedi his master would've been proud of. kanan sits on the floor in an open space in front of the ship, legs folded as he meditates. even though he couldn't see the stars the same, it was comforting knowing they could see him. their presence alone was enough for him. despite being deep in his state, his head shifts moments before the footsteps on the ramp can be heard.
kanan smiles gently, head tilting up as she confesses to her reason for coming to find him. there was no-one else he'd rather have interrupt him, the only one who could interrupt him was her. without hera, without her strength & hope & heart, none of them would have made it this far. she taught him to believe & fight for a future in this galaxy. she showed him how to love when his entire upbringing forbade him from doing so. ❝ hera ... i didn't realise you were still awake. ❞ he smiles albeit speaks with surprise, given how tirelessly she's worked recently. kanan offers his hand in response, bringing her down to sit by his side, bodies enveloping each other as they wrap arms around one another. ❝ you don't have to be alone, i promise. ❞ a beat, eyes staring blankly ahead as he rests against her. ❝ couldn't sleep? what's on your mind? ❞
