(yes i am only mildly procrastinating. i like to call it writer’s block but also this helps me think)
Thorin’s 41. He tells everyone he’s 39. Dis tells everyone he’s 45.
Still uses his Walkman. Dis once tried to sell it at a yard sale along with his extensive tape collection. He didn’t talk to her for three months.
Sometimes Thorin, Dwalin, and Nori gather to “rehearse” but end up jamming out to 80′s music, much to Dis’ dismay.
Is really lazy when it comes to food. when it’s placed in front of him, he’ll eat it up, otherwise he sometimes forgets to eat, and when he does it’s so easy to just order a pizza instead of making something
in Thorin’s imagination, he’s already asked bilbo out and their first date was a picnic at the park and it was nice and he even kissed him and it was great and then he flashes forward to their wedding and then he remembers that Bilbo is trying to get him to play the scales on the piano and he blushes for no reason whatsoever like a weirdo.
Bilbo is 33. He has a degree in music education.
Bungo died when he was 19, Belladonna when he was 24.
Since we’re on the sadness, Thorin’s parents died in a fire when he was 17. Thror and Frerin died in a mining accident when Thorin was 28.
Thorin hadn’t played music for nearly 15 years until Fili was born.
When Bilbo was younger he wanted to be a concert pianist.
Aside from the guitar and like instruments, Thorin can play the piano (lessons!), drums, harmonica, xylophone, an accordion very badly, and the recorder. He wanted to learn the bagpipe but Dis threatened to scalp him.
He really likes tambourines.
Thorin still uses a cheap film camera he got a second hand store when he was twenty.
He’s secretly happy that Dori thinks he can make it big. He still doesn’t know if that’s what he wants. He just really likes to play music.
Doesn’t understand why Dis calls him a hipster. What does that even mean?
