An upgrade for my first self-made yukata. Swipe to see the un-upgrade version and progress pictures. I made this yukata back in 2011 or 2012 using the @folkwearsewing.patterns nr.113. It is made with a purple terlenka which had an interesting colour pattern, so I thought that would make in interesting enough. But when I wore this last summer to the japanese gardens in Hasselt, I noticed in the pictures there was something... lacking. So I decided to spice it up with some bamboo leave silhouettes~ I drew it all out in illustrator (because vectors awww yisss), printed it out, and cut it out. This would be drawn on darker purple terlenka with vliesofix attached, so it would be easier to adhere it to the yukata. ~several days of cutting paper and fabric later~ Once it was ironed on the yukata, I went back over all of the edges with a satinstitch, which also took a couple of days (mainly because the pedal-foot-thing of my sewingmachine became to hot to press after sewing continuously) and also took about 650/700 metres of thread! But, I am very happy with the result, and I hope I can take pics with it soon 8D I also kinda made this originally to go with a vocaloid Gakupo cosplay, so maybe that may still happen. #kimono #yukata #sewing #folkwearpatterns #purple #seamstress #sewingproject #vliesofix #vliesofixislife #iuseitsomuch (Also, hoho, what's this, a post, from me? IMPOSSIBLE xD ) (But seriously, once I realized I don't need to be in my cosplay to post pictures of said cosplay, this account might get filled up 8D ) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-jUpb8DOJ-/?igshid=kuuiqgi5u0if
