More teasers! Sorry guys! I just can’t help it. I’m so excited about the fit of these pants. You have no idea how many test muslins I sewed up before getting to this final version (or maybe you do)! I started experimenting with a slim leg pants pattern earlier this summer and I thought I had the fit ironed out, but the more I wore the test pairs I made, the more I realized there were a few fit issues I needed to figure out. Anyway, sometimes patterns take awhile. Today I’m wearing a t-shirt I recently drafted and sewed up. I’ve never made a knit tee before and I don’t own a coverstitch machine, but despite that I found the process completely satisfying and the shirt fits like a dream. I totally get it now why people love to sew knits. It only took me maybe an hour from start to finish, and I was taking my sweet time. ~ The pants are my #persephonepants pattern except I added 3/4” to the waist length, just because. 🙄 Also hemmed my left leg a smidge higher than my right. My right thigh is 1” bigger around than my left and I’ve noticed the hems never look quite right. I only hemmed the left leg about 1/4”-3/8” higher but it seems to make a difference. Anyone else do this? I also used a heavyweight 12oz cotton canvas (Carhartt in the color “wheat”). I purchased the fabric from @califabrics and I am really liking this color! I’ve been so busy filling orders (custom sewing) that I’ve had next to no time to take pictures. So I thought I’d find some archived photos I took last year (exactly 1 year ago, almost to the day!). I was still perfecting the fit of these #persephonepants (shorts) at the time. I still wear these linen shorts and highly recommend making a pair of shorts in linen for the warmer months. Although these shorts look super fitted here, they did “grow” a lot as I wore them.
