                 Agusty castle is much different than Evans, but thinking of it, Azelle realizes Lewyn wouldn’t know.  It was the capital, and it shows with the decadent way its decorated, but to Azelle, it just feels a little more closer to home than Evans.  He isn’t sure he likes it much.

                 He’d decided to approach the bard mostly because he’s convinced they can be easy friends.  They’re both mages, even if they specialize in different forms of magic, and...  Well, he doesn’t know Lewyn well enough to be able to have more to base a friendship off of.  But he’d like to, so that’s a good reason as any to talk to him, he thinks.

                 It’s a chilly night, and Edain had decided to make hot chocolate for whatever reason. She offered Azelle a mug, and he decided to bring one to Lewyn, too.  He feels it’s a good way to start a conversation, especially since he finds Lewyn sitting on the roof, tuning his...  instrument.  ( Azelle forgets its name. )

                 ❝ Hey!! ❞ Azelle begins.  He holds out one of the mugs for Lewyn to take one with a gentle smile.

                 ❝ Lady Edain made hot chocolate...  It’s kind of cold out, so I thought you’d like some.  She’s really good at cooking. ❞

Lex had a particularly difficult time with long, uninterrupted silences, especially silences that weighed heavily on the room to the point that it made the air and the room feel harder to breathe. He knew two people who had mastered the art of causing that very sort of silence to fall: Arvis and Lewyn. Of the two, Lex had much less trouble breaking the silence when it was Arvis he was speaking to. After all, Arvis was used to Lex’s own special brand of idiocy. Unfortunately, Lex was stuck talking to Lewyn instead.

“So...,” Lex finally broke down, unable to bear another moment of quiet contemplation. “You, uh... you’ve got, uh, a real breezy look going on there. Really... really like a breath of fresh air. Just... really looking like you got some nice wind in your sails. Did you go on a shopping spree or something? Maybe... maybe got a nice little windfall that you wanted to go out and splurge?” Maybe if he was annoying enough, Lewyn would leave, and then all the tension in the air would just evaporate, and then Lex would be free to go bother someone else. Like Azelle. Or Lady Edain. Or anyone else.

                 Being such a small village means every visit from a merchant is a big event.  Azelle’s still getting used to that kind of excitement, but he’s got an obligation to peruse any merchant’s wares for herbs or salves harder to come by or make from what the forest has to offer.

                 He freezes when he sees the merchant’s face, and has only enough tact to stop from blowing the man’s cover instantaneously.

                 ❝ What are you doing here?? ❞  Lewyn might ask him the same thing.

                 ❝ But…  Of course I did.  And do.  After Victor died, Arvis was named duke and one of the first thing he did was banish any bastards fathered by Victor and their mothers far away from Velthomer.  I…  Didn’t ask too many questions when I started thinking of it, because I was afraid he’d do that to Mother and I, too, but…  He told me once that our mothers were friends, and mine made his smile on bad days.  Maybe they were like sisters, so he… 

                 ❝ But it’s not like I was a part of that at all, you know??  Mother…  If she had had the choice I wouldn’t be here at all.  So if neither of them wanted me, then…  Why would he have any reason to want me?? 

                 ❝ I was ten when she died.  I always thought…  If I’d have been older when she died, or far much younger, Arvis would have banished me, too, then and there. ❞

once he’s heard the rumor, Hugh spends the entire night watching the bard.  he moves from table to table.  over the din of the tavern, the mage can’t hear what he says to girls at tables, but the smirk on his lips is telling enough that Hugh can gather somewhat of an idea.  he plays a song a few times, too, and Hugh doesn’t listen.  he only gets up to move when the bard moves to leave, and follows him out.

❝ hey!! ❞ Hugh calls out.  he trots up to the bard, specifically poising his elfire tome so that the other can see he’s armed, but not in a threatening manner.

❝ a little birdie told me you’re a V-I-P, ❞ he continues.  ❝ something-something prince??  am i right??  because if so, you must know it’s dangerous around these parts.  but luckily for you, my tome’s for sale.  what do you say, Highness?? ❞

👑 = If your character is part of the aristocracy how do they feel about their responsibility? If not how do they feel about their local governing body.

seliph feels bad. he just feels bad about most things, but especially being thrust into this leadership role when he never before felt like a leader because of his bloodline does not feel great.  that said, even if he dislikes this role and would rather not take it, he feels very strongly that this is what he needs to do, anything else be damned, and of course he’s going to do his utmost to make sure he does it well.  there’s a bit of a double edged sword to fe4′s ending that really comes off like a return to status quo, and the status quo that exists when sigurd was running around which sucks.  i think the baseline improves in general, but seliph is by no means a better emperor than arvis, nor would he be better than julia if she took the role.

before loptyr took over, he probably didn’t have many opinions about the government at all?  he was a kid, kids don’t think about that outside of when their parents complain.  if anything he might think that king dannan was a bad person, but that’s only because shannan talked so much shit about how he needed to retake the throne.  afterwards, though, he basically dislikes any ruler either because they’re such garbage people or they’re upholding the system that needs to come down, and they’re all more people that he has to kill.  (is it selfish to dislike some one just because you’re going to have to kill them and you don’t like killing people?  this is on a list of things seliph has anxiety about)

i don’t think he has any particularly noteworthy scars?  he’s definitely a bit beat up though.  ulster and larcei are practically siblings to him and he got beat up just trying to follow their leads as kids.  he also has sundry scars from training his sword arm, though less than others might get considering his magic sword blood.  if anything i am going to headcanon he has one scar, mostly faded by now, right behind his ear.  deirdre tossed him into shannan’s arms when she wanted to see her mans again, and shannan’s fingernail cut a scratch that made the poor baby cry immediately.  seliph doesn’t even know it’s there because shannan has never spoken about it.

Each mage will cast a series of spells to show off their mastery and control over magic... Believe it or not, it’s trickier than it looks! Precision and creativity are at the core of doing well in this division! In any case, let’s get to it. Please welcome Lewyn of Silesse and Sonya of Valentia to the stage!”

EMM: “This is like watching two figures of our world’s history fighting it out.”

CHROM: “Two legendary figures from our world’s history, although very far apart from each other. See, I did used to listen in those lectures. Sometimes.”

Lewyn is slow to get started, and it seems he struggles to get the spell to grow beyond its inital cast. However, he thrusts a gloved hand forward which seems to give his magic moment, and it blooms into a full gale.

Eager to make it difficult for Sonya to catch up, Lewyn places a personal twist on his cast. A softly outlined figure appears, playing the flute - perhaps a reference to his life as a travelling bard. It soon disipates, but it is almost as if the silent image had actually left a small tune behind, in the form of a the rustling wind.

A fresh ocean scent spreads across the arena as the winds begin to rise, dancing from all sides of the field. They rise in time and swirl together, meeting in the centre. A moment passes, and the spell soars into the air, transforming into the shape of a giant bird.

As with Lewyn, Sonya struggles to build the spell, having likely used up too much energy in her perfect cast. However, inspiration strikes and she pulls the remaining winds from said spell, her necklace rising in the meantime. Though it is not enough to raise the current score by much, she has prepared the stage to create an even greater avian in her next attempt at magic.
