Thank you to everyone who entered last Friday’s Creative Connections Instagram challenge – you contributed some amazing photographs (and videos!) of people dancing to celebrate Margot Fonteyn! Here is a submission from sarascobie.
Margot Fonteyn grew up in Ealing, and took her first dance lessons in the borough. By the time she was twenty, she had danced the leads in Giselle, Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty. Many consider her to be one of the greatest dancers of all time.

Art students from Brentside High School in the London Borough of Ealing have been exploring eighteen inspirational people in the National Portrait Gallery’s Collection connected to their neighbourhood. Each Friday over the summer we’ll post a new challenge linked to one of our inspiring Ealing figures. You have until the following Wednesday to respond.
THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE: Capture yourself or somebody else dancing. Margot Fonteyn is widely regarded as one of the greatest ballet dancers of all time. She first took dance lessons as a child in Ealing.
HOW TO CONTRIBUTE: Hashtag your Instagram photos with #EalingConnections to submit them to the project. CHALLENGE RULES: Please only submit your own photos and get permission first from anyone that features in them. Any person included in the photo must be over eighteen years of age.
