Does anyone else absolutely despise being put into a box of labels and expectations? 🖐🏻 ~•~ I am one of those people. I hate being defined as something that I do or say or whatever the case may be. The only thing that defines me is my core belief to just be a good person who is happy and healthy. That’s it. 🙏🏻 ~•~ But especially in the world of social media, I feel like no one truly knows you. I may seem like I’m all about cooking (which I total am) but what really sparks a light in my heart is learning new things. 👏🏻 ~•~ Now, I don’t wanna say I’ve MASTERED cooking, but I’m pretty damn good at it and happy where I’m at. I once heard a food photographer say that he never shoots with blue backgrounds because blue is an appetite suppressant. It’s an interesting perspective, but somehow it’s never stopped me from diving into the cake after a shoot 😂 Blue is a beautiful complement to yellows and oranges. It’s a cool tone, which recedes to the eye, and can provide contrast to bring out the warmth in food. An all warm tone can work in food photography, but sometimes it can look too Eighties to me. I prefer to use cool or neutral toned backgrounds. I believe that the best food images balance cool and warm tones.
