it’s fop friday. everyone get more foppish now
Not now, Kitten. Daddy is busy powdering his wig.
i must know if any other foppery enjoyers collect these blue & white porcelain figurines or if it's just my secondhand stores overflowing with them
Born to be a fop forced to be a flop
i think there was meant to be more to this draft but.
(Nearly) all the ways Francesco Algarotti had been called a fop by 18th & 19th century authors:
Premise: during his life (1712-1764), Algarotti attracted the love but also the contempt of many of his contemporaries, especially of the fellow italians. In the 19th century he was considered the epitome of all the frivolities and flaws of his century. Most of these descriptions are meant to be derogatory, but to me they only make him more iconic.
