Capitaine Chevalle at best has about a minute of screen time and a gig as a side character in a fairly short children’s novel along with some other misc. media. Everything on this blog (from orgy nights to picking up James Norrington from Tripoli to the establishment of the Fancy being a sanctuary for him to live as an openly gay man and taking in queer runaways) has been made up by yours truly.
I am further explaining these HC in my (rather serious and fairly historically accurate despite how it sounds) Chevalle origin fic, as well as in some other stand alone pieces. I’ve spent countless hours thinking about this man, and how he fits into the PotC universe, while also trying to cover serious and complex themes of the 18th century such as religion (particularly Catholicism as an ex Catholic), sexuality, slavery, and sexism.
But shamelessly promoting my own work again because the pairing is so niche, it has no search tags on AO3:
