Follow this awesome girl right here! You won't regret it! :D xx
I can’t believe it, I’ve lived in London for just over a month now and today will be the first day I’ve ever gone sightseeing. How crazy is that?! I had always wanted to move to England, and when my dad got a job opportunity I was so excited to come and explore the sights of London: The Big Ben, The London Eye, Hyde Park, Madame Tussauds, the list goes on and on! Right now, I just got out of the London morning chill and found myself a seat on an express train. Honestly I had no idea where I was going, I decided if a place looked interesting enough I was jump off and explore and then call a cab and return back home. I pulled my black winter coat closer together when suddenly I was startled by a husky voice.
“Excuse me love, you dropped this..” a boy, about my age was staring at me, holding my phone which I had clumsily dropped on the ground - most likely when I was fixing my coat.
“Oh sorry about that, thanks so much” I reply back, returning my phone back to my coat pocket when I noticed the boy still staring at me.
“Is something the matter?” I ask him, his messy brown curls covering most of his face, as he continued to stare at me. His blue/green eyes pored into mine (his eyes look so gorgeous compared to my dull dark brown eyes) and a smile formed on his face, showing off his cute dimples.
“No. I was just thinking. You don’t look like you’re from around here” he commented.
“Oh, I see. Well I’m not” I answer back, tucking a strand of my long brown hair behind my ear. The boy raised his head a little before speaking once again.
“I knew it! So where are you from, if you don’t mind me asking?” he asks me. I look at him, wondering whether to tell this complete stranger where I’m actually from. But it’s like he was reading my mind as he continued to say “I’m Harry by the way” hmm Harry, nice name.
“Um, I suppose not. I’m from the US. I moved here about a month ago. And I’m Adela by the way” I imitate Harry’s final sentence as he softly laughs back.
“Ahhh how nice. So where you headed now?” Harry asks me, moving closer to my seat on the train.
“No idea actually, wherever I feel like going. How about you?” I question
“I just needed some time to myself, but I wouldn’t mind spending a day with you. I was planning on going to Hyde Park?” Harry suggests, I nod in response and we spend the remainder of the train ride getting to know each other.
I found out that he loves to sing, just like I do (but I’m only a shower singer), he has an older sister named Gemma and has four best friends: Louis, Liam, Niall and Zayn who all sound like really fun people to be around. And I can’t help but secretly admit that he’s totally gorgeous! And his accent. Wow.
“Uh, Adela, you there?” Harry asks, distracting me from my thoughts.
“Yeah yeah I’m good. We at Hyde Park yet?” I ask him, hoping to avoid him asking me what I was thinking about.
“We sure are. Come on!” he stands up, offering his hand to help me up. I hesistantly accept it and we walk out of the train together and off towards Hyde Park.
The rest of the day was totally amazing to say the least. We walked around Hyde Park several times but we didn’t care since we were both so deep in conversation. It was great getting to know him, and despite being in London for around a month now, he is pretty much one of my only friends I have made here. When we passed an ice-cream stand he offered to buy me one and even bought my favourite flavour without even knowing. Turns out we both share a liking for cookie dough flavoured ice cream.
Mid conversation about my family back in the US Harry interrupted me and moved closer towards me, wiping my lips with a napkin he was holding.
“Much better..” Harry mumbles, stepping back to inspect my lips
“What was that all about?” I question, raising my eyebrows in suspicion
“Just a bit of ice cream on your face” Harry casually answers, smiling at me
“Oh, well thanks?” I answer
“Welcome A” Harry responds. Hold on, he’s already got a nickname for me?!
“And yes.. I already made a nickname for you” Harry concluded. I swear that boy is a mind reader sometimes. I laugh at the situation and continue walking on. When Harry suddenly speaks again.
“Do you have a boyfriend?” Harry blurts out
“Me?” I ask, pointing towards myself. Harry nods in response.
“Oh, um.. no. I don’t… do you?” I ask, curious but worried as to why he would ask me.
“No no no, I don’t.” Harry answers after a moments silence. “I’m just surprised why a girl as beautiful as you doesn’t have a boyfriend yet?! Wow” Harry says, placing his hands into his messy brown locks. I stare at him in shock.
“You have got to be joking me right?!” I exclaim.
“No, I’m not A” Harry whispers.
“You’re sweet, funny, intelligent, you love cookie dough ice-cream, and you’re quite gorgeous..“ Harry rambles. He looks downwards after saying this, which is good because I bet I’m looking as red as a tomato right about now.
“Awwww..” I whisper
Our conversation was suddenly interrupted by the sound of Harry’s phone ringing. He walks away and answers the call, leaving me to stand there alone for several minutes before his return.
“Uh look Adela, that was my sister, I gotta head home now. But it was great to meet you” Harry informs me, he walks closer to me whilst placing his hand into the back pocket of his jeans.
“Give me your hand” he orders. I quickly raise my right hand to him, and notice Harry placing it down and forcing a soft grip on it before he opens a text and starts to write a set of numbers on my hand.
“Your phone number?” I question, looking at his focused eyes as he writes his name on my hand as well.
“Yes. Just in case you drop your phone once again” Harry jokes, referring to how I first met him on the train just hours ago, letting go of my hand and placing the texta back into his pocket.
“I’ll text you later..” I reply
“You better!” Harry cheekily answers as he gives me a quick hug and heads back towards the train station.
I feel this flutter in my stomach, an increased heart rate and a blush slowly rising to my cheeks. I look down towards me texta covered hand and smile. I think I’m really going to enjoy living in London now.
