Have you heard from Emily? I don't want to invade any privacy, but I do worry about her. When she deactivated I know she was dealing with a lot irl. You two were the reason I finally started my own drarry blog and really... the two of you were like "blogger goals". I'm sorry if this is inappropriate, I'm really not trying to be nosy. She was just a total sweetheart every time we spoke and I often wonder if she's ok.
Hi anon! I am still in touch with Em (the old well-done-draco, for those of you who don’t know. That URL is now someone else). I contacted her, and she decided she wanted to explain herself directly. This is all from her:
“Basically, it came down to my mental state and how I was spending my time. Sort of. I was dealing with (what felt like) a lot at the time. Three of my best friends cut me out of their lives after what felt like a regular night (sort of). Things ended horribly for our whole group and they ended up being REALLY mean to me and that was stressful in itself. I’ve never dealt with mean girl bullying in the way I have from them after everything went down, and the fact that they used to be my best friends made it even harder and reminded me why I didn’t go to high school, haha. So there was that. My relationship with my parents, sisters, and other best friends were pretty shot and I felt horrible. I’d kept so many secrets from them and they all felt really betrayed. It might not seem like a lot of secrets were kept because I was like an open book on this site. But I didn’t tell them ANYTHING. Everything about me was totally fabricated. I was afraid of telling them what was going on in my head and in my everyday life when in reality they were nothing but loving and supportive which was NOT what I was expecting. I needed to focus on rebuilding the relationships I’d been ignoring. That included my relationship with God. I really let that one go. A lot of you might not believe in God, but Christianity has always been a fundamental part of my character and I didn’t feel complete without it being a huge piece of my life. I think the vast majority of people involved in fandoms, shipping, fanfiction, you name it, use it as a fun hobby. A pastime, something fun to do in their free time. For me, after I realized how bad all my relationships, friendships, priorities, EVERYTHING were, I used Tumblr and social media to escape all that, and it wasn’t healthy. It wasn’t healthy for me to be spending that much time online. I love you guys. I ADORE you guys. But I couldn’t put my laptop or phone down for like two minutes before checking tumblr again to see how many notes my most recent post had gotten, to read a new fanfic, to get lost in the fantasy of it all. I was obsessed and it wasn’t good. I considered coming back after I’d posted a little bit of what was up with me and what I planned to do, but then I made the horrible mistake of checking my asks and let’s just say… it wasn’t pretty to look at. And what the anons had to say kind of reaffirmed that I wasn’t yet ready to be active online again. I basically just went radio silent for a period of time on all social media platforms. So, I don’t know if that gives a clear answer to you. I know that I miss you guys beyond words, but I also know that I am just not ready to come back yet, and I hope you understand. I am also SO grateful for the relationships I’ve made with people all over the globe because of this site. As unhealthy as my habits both on and offline were, I made some really awesome friends. Sara included (I love u Ogof❤️❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭). You guys were always there, 24/7. All of you guys who might be reading this are amazing, and I am incredibly thankful for you.Yes, I’m okay now. As soon as Sam and the other girls cut me out, I found who my real friends are, cheesy as that may sound. I’m obnoxiously happy. There’s been some hard stuff I’ve had to deal with because actions have consequences, but things are turning out. I so appreciate that you were thinking of me. I think of you guys all the time. ❤️😭, it came down to my mental state and how I was spending my time. Sort of. I was dealing with (what felt like) a lot at the time. Well said, Em. She’s also told me that if any of you want to reach out to her personally, just send me a private message off anon, and I can give you her email.
