For Respect - Don Caballero (1993)
To continue from my last post, an older Oscar maybe 20 or 21 who has spent most of his childhood being ignored.
Who can’t stand it when Morris greets his questions or remarks with silence. Can’t stand when he asks Weisel something and he doesn’t even look at him, too distracted with something else.
Morris who knows this, who knows how much Oscar hates it, how much it will almost immediately send him spiralling because suddenly he’s a kid again. morris who knows how easy it is to do when Oscar’s done something to piss him off because he doesn’t have a lot on his older brother who seems unshakeable but he has this, had their ma’s love
Oscar who hates that something so stupid can have so much of an effect on him, hates that it can immediately make him feel like that kid on the farm again, tugging on his ma’s skirt.
Oscar who has no issues making whoever pay attention to him.

“I agree with Terry.” said Mrs Bunty Twelvetrees, 83. “My dad used to beat me with a leather belt for the tiniest infraction and let me tell you, as those painful blows rained down on me I really got a powerful sense of the importance of people respecting one another. Really left an impression on me, that did. Well, that and the buckle end, obviously.”
So it’s a certain edgy hedgehog’s game anniversary today-
