The Land of Improbable
It's a place just beyond the corner of your eye, it's there and gone between heartbeats. There is no secret portal, or ship that can sail beyond the horizon of the minds own making; but rather if you close your eyes and believe with all that you are in that place between waking and dreams you may find yourself with a glimmer of what it is... A land that knows no end, and has long since forgotten its beginning with no man to remind it that it has one. It is the land where we find our inner most dreams born, the things we have cast into the dustless corners of our minds to drift forgotten beyond memory. A place of childhood hopes, the things we can call naught but fantastic and impossible, for but here; there is no such word. For the impossible land of shimmering colours found only in a dragon's eye, or caught between a unicorn's breaths; we drift on wings of gossamer and dance on the frailest of sea foam, we traverse the mountains of death and doom to have tea with a lion's court. The land of our own creations we forget seems immeasurable and yet it fits in a caterpillar's hand, forgotten with age but always there beyond the shores of consciousness deemed irreparable by the wisdom of the world weary. The hearts of children do not forgo their first flight over a mermaid lagoo or the uttering of magic words to open the cave, we should not forget that which is our right to hide under blankets and pillows the keys to a land beyond sight, and just out of hearing because age says we must. Dream on for there is always an adventure just down the path and straight on til morning.
