#forbidden forests

You know Snape has either run or fought every single creature in the forbidden forest since he's probably going out there and gathering potions ingredients. Thusly he's often the one who will catch students if they try to go in. But I imagine there's been at least one student party he's run through being chased by some horrible beast where all the students see is a black blur yelling at them to run and that they have detention. Just sprints striaght through their party yelling at them to run leaps over their bonfire and calls out the time and place of their detentions.

Courting Death

She came to him, as she always did, after the fighting was long over.

It was the only good thing that had come from this accursed war between the Fae and the Humans. 

She walked behind Death, collecting a share of the fallen mortal souls. 

Even in the heat of battle, he couldn’t shake the thought from his head: would she collect this one? Or perhaps this poor soul, as his sword cut deep into giving flesh.

She appeared at the entrance of his tent on silent feet, her cloak caked with mud and drying blood. It was dirty work, gathering souls from the dead and dying, he’d learned. Just as dirty as the business of ending lives.

They stared at each other for a moment before he offered her his hand. 

“Come, rest a moment. Surely your mistress won’t begrudge you that?” He asked.

She turned her head to the side, as if listening to something only she could hear, her body already leaning towards him.

“No. She wouldn’t.” She said.

She placed her hand in his and allowed him to lead her deeper into the tent.

Watching the Desolation of Smaug and all I can think is the Forbidden Forest with all of the acromantulas and just so many spiders holy hell.
