Tapetum Lucidum: The tapetum lucidum is a layer of tissue in the eye of many vertebrates. Lying immediately behind the retina, it is a retroreflector. It reflects visible light back through the retina, increasing the light available to the photoreceptors.

Sometimes at night,

 When my metal shell is cooling,

 and steam rises up.

I can almost recall the memory of aching bones,

and sore muscles.

The place where my heart used to be,

 throbs like a rotten tooth, 

with nuclear light that would have killed me 

if I still had aching bones 

and sore muscles.
