Since Scribd now has a month's free trial, I did a 15-part tweet with links to books I recommended that have queer chars/POC and brief summaries. I would love to see you do the same! Any genre is fine, but I am especially interested in fantasy, sci fi, murder mysteries and accurate historical fiction!

I started this and it DELETED, ugh I’m very disappointed but take two (a lot of these are audiobooks cause they are the only ones available) 

In Other Lands by Sarah Rees Brennan- Magic school book with a grumpy bisexual protagonist 

Every Hearts a Doorway by Seanan McGuire- Boarding school with kids who traveled to magical lands and now returned. Ace mc and various other queer characters throughout the series. 

Adaptation by Malinda Lo- There are aliens and the mc is bi. (looll don’t remember this book mcuh) 

Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust- Snow White from the princess and queen’s pov and the “prince” character is a woman and a surgeon. 

Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst- A princess is supposed to marry the prince but falls in love with the other princess instead. 

The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi- Another fantasy heist novel with queer characters. And like, puzzles and more attention is paid to history

Yeah, I was all AREN'T YOU IN AUSTRALIA? Peeps are panicking though, Costco is completely sold out of toilet paper because of it.

Whereabouts are you? I can’t remember if you lived in Sri Lanka, or if you lived in Australia and occasionally visited Sri Lanka.

We had our first death yesterday. We also have our first case of someone who hasn’t interacted with anyone fitting under the usual profile of the disease -- didn’t know anyone who’d recently traveled, hasn’t traveled himself recently, etc. So that’s made some people nervous because “who the hell could he have gotten this from?” Plus he’s a healthcare worker in a hospital, so that makes it even more fun.

Hand soap is completely gone in our local Coles, and people have also been taking bottled water for some reason????? IDK if they’re expecting the virus to break into the water treatment plants or something and throw themselves in and kill us all. Water bottle companies (Nestle) are laughing all the way to the bank tho.

But I was also talking to someone who was like “What are you talking about? I went to my Coles just an hour ago and they were fully stocked with hand soap.”

So I guess it depends on the area or something. Or how good they are at restocking, who knows?

Mum doesn’t think it’s likely to be a really big thing, but she is concerned and, like... this is the woman who, that time we had an actual bushfire on our doorstep, basically shrugged and said “no need to leave or plan anything, we’ll be fine.” And she was right. So her being nervous is making me nervous.
