Hi y’all! I’m actually still working on that Star Wars and Homestuck crossover I talked about a few months ago. I know when I stopped posting about it it probably seemed like I’d dropped it, but actually, surprising no one, writing down my notes for the first time as posts designed for an audience (yall) was super stressful! And that did not help my motivation and/or inspiration.
I did end up writing what I’ve got for it down in my notes app, but in doing so I’ve come up with lots more ideas for the universe and hopefully the eventual fic! I’m currently at a bit more than 5,000 words of notes, and I have lots more ideas than what’s written too. Feel free to ask me anything about this! I’m dying to share, but nobody I know irl cares at all about any of this stuff, so I’m really hoping some of y’all will take an interest! Not to mention that figuring out how to answer your questions will help me formulate and structure my ideas, as well as helping my motivation in this area.
Also, just in general feel free to ask me about stuff, especially my fics, fis ideas, and AUs. Right now I have 144 documents in my notes app! Not all of these are fic related, but I’d guess that at least half of them are, and even some of the ones that aren’t are original works that I’d be willing to share.
Look. Most of this stuff is never going to see the light of day as things are. I’m not the best at writing notes, but I’ve gotten a lot better. Unfortunately this mean that things I started in the the past worse and less notes than the things I’m actively working on now. There’s stuff that I’ve read recently and gone “wow this is great!….. I have no idea where I was going with this.” Things I’ve drawn charts and maps and timelines for that I’ve forgotten many of the details of. I used to be so paranoid about people ”stealing” my work that I’d never post any of it until I was sure I could complete it, and…. I’d never get to that point. Now I feel like if someone runs away with my fic or au ideas, well, on some level, all the better. At least the ideas are out there, and there’s no reason that should stop me from working on, writing, and (hopefully) publishing the versions of those ideas that I hold dear.
And anyway, isn’t that the point? That someone will fall enough in love with your idea, your world, your characters that they want to imagine them further? To see what other stories those ideas can make?
.
I don’t know. I guess just. Ask me. About ForceStuck (still don’t have a better name for it :P), about my other works, about… virtually anything.
Just don’t let these ideas be gone forever.
