A collection of rather shabby looking terracotta Rhubarb forcing jars do somehow look the part in this rather formally box edged organic kitchen garden in east Cheshire.
Rhubarb ‘Timperley Early’ rather fittingly, forced to produce sweet pink stems during early Spring.
Pink and elongated these thin stems are the pinnicle of the Rhubarb growing season and can only be harvested for a few weeks…
