Summary » Jeremy runs into Oliver at Sol where they share cake over cups of coffee and small talk. Oliver then invites Jeremy over to his place where they watch a movie and fall asleep together.
Oliver
As the day progressed, it seemed to have gone slower and slower, which didn't surprise Oliver in the least. It was a Monday after all. He had slept through most of his classes, and even contemplated ditching the last few. He wasn't a terrible student, he always did his work and got good grades. He just hated being there. But now the blond was half awake, and he needed to study. He had sat in his bedroom for hours staring at the textbook in front of him before deciding to have a break and walked out into the night. He roamed aimlessly, absorbing the fresh air, before he suddenly found himself inside Sol. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. Drawing a breath, he made his way to the front desk and scanned the menu.
Jeremy
The weekend had brought nothing but more stress and heavy thoughts for Jeremy, as Monday finally settled in and things seemed to return to normal - or as normal as things could get - his body was giving up, leaving him feeling completely spent and worn out. Jeremy had found himself wanting to sleep even more than usual and to detach himself from just about everything. Life was calling though and he couldn't totally skip out on it. With a groan, he pulled himself out of bed and checked his phone, ignoring the few texts he had and paying attention to the time. It wasn't too late in the day to get a coffee and pick up on things, like school work or just putting himself out there. After pulling on fresh clothes and making his way over to Sol, he flicked his dying cigarette butt off to the side and entered the cafe. He stood a few paces away from the menu and glanced around, his eyes settling on the back of a familiar figure. Pulling his lips up into a smile, he stepped next to Oliver and nodded his head. "Hey the
Oliver
Oliver nearly jumped out of his skin when Jeremy decided to make his presence known. He hadn't expected to run into anyone he knew, mostly just seeing to get himself a cup of coffee for some much needed energy and be on his way. But hanging with Jeremy was a lot better than heading home and studying. He knew the material well enough to pass the test anyway. His lips formed a large smile as he tilted his head slightly looking at Jeremy. It was definitely nice seeing him. He hadn't really spoken to the other boy since the night at the bar. "Hey," The blond greeted back at his friend. "Didn't expect to run into anyone here. Meeting up with someone?"
Jeremy
Jeremy gave Oliver a quick once over as the boy began to speak. He brought his eyes back up to the blond's face and held his smile. Thinking back to the last time he had talked to Oliver, Jeremy remembered how much he had liked his company and how well they had got on. "I didn't expect to see anybody here either." Jeremy looked past Oliver and gave the cafe a quick scan, just in case of the off chance that they would be met by someone else they knew. "Nope, I'm on my own tonight." Jeremy grinned and settled his focus back onto Oliver. Maybe he wouldn't be on his own for much longer, Oliver was there now and he wouldn't pass up the chance to chat or hang out. "How 'bout you? What are you doin' here all by yourself?"
Oliver
"I was actually going to head back home after this to do some studying for finals," Oliver started with a roll of his eyes at the thought. He found exams draining. At the end of the school day, he wanted nothing more than to fall onto his bed and curl up under the covers and stay there for weeks--months if possible. "I just wanted to get my self a pick-me-up," He continued, gesturing toward the front desk where he eyed the pastries for a moment. "It's been a long day." Turning to face Jeremy, Oliver shoved his hands into his coat pockets, looking for warmth, as he raised his eyebrows. "Do you want sit and have some coffee? Maybe share a pastry or something."
Jeremy
Jeremy scrunched his nose at the mention of finals. Honestly, with everything that had been going on, he had forgotten all about the upcoming finals and studying. Which was unlike him, he was usually so on top of his school work and his grades were nearly perfect. School was the last thing he wanted to add on top to his stack of worries. Jeremy nodded in agreement to Oliver's words and smiled. "Yeah, that'd actually be pretty cool. Sharin' something sounds nice." Jeremy looked over to the pastries and eyed a slice of pound cake. "How does cake sound?" He looked back to Oliver and widened his smile, taking in the boy's facial features. He was better looking that Jeremy had seemed to remember, not that he hadn't noticed it before. "I'll pay for everythin'. What do you usually get to drink?" Jeremy looked back up to the menu as he asked.
Oliver
Oliver really loved having Jeremy's company. It was so easy to be himself around the other boy, and be a little more at ease with himself. He listened intently as the taller boy spoke and followed his gaze, a smile tugging at his lips as his eyes rested on the slice of pound cake before concurring to Jeremy's words with a nod. "Yeah, that looks great," He replied with a broad grin before stepping up to the counter. "A grande Caffe Americano." He looked over at Jeremy and felt his smile widen as he watched Jeremy's own smile grow. It was hard not to smile. The other boy had a smile that could make a baby stop crying. He had never seen anything like it. "You don't have to do that," Oliver finally said, shaking himself out of his trance. "I can pay for my own drink. You don't have to feel obligated to buy it."
Oliver
Oliver nodded slowly as he took in Jeremy's words, a small smirk painting his lips. "Well, then thank you," He started, looking up at the other boy. "You know, I may end up taking advantage of that though." A small chuckle escaped his lips as he watched the boy pay. Even though he would love for someone to do things for him when he wanted, Oliver knew he wasn't serious when he spoke the words. He was too nice. He'd feel too bad making someone do stuff for him. But if Jeremy was insisting on paying for his drink, who was Oliver to say no? It proved that the boy was generous. And it only made him all that more interested in getting close to him and befriending him.
Jeremy
"Take advantage of me all you want." Jeremy gave Oliver a cheeky wink and laughed. It was safe to say that Jeremy was half-serious about what he had just said, his smile turning into a small smirk as he looked at Oliver. He directed his gaze over to the baristas working on their drinks and tried to keep his eyes off of Oliver. If this little meet up between the two had been planned, Jeremy would have kept eyeing the shorter boy but he didn't want to push it and risk making things awkward. Their cashier approached the counter again with their order in hand and motioned for Jeremy. With a smile on his lips, he stepped forward and took their drinks, handing Oliver his before reaching back for the slice of cake sitting on a plate. "Where are we sittin'?" Jeremy smiled at Oliver and took a sip of his drink, wincing as it slightly burned his lips.
Oliver
Taking his cup from Jeremy, Oliver replied with a quick 'thank you' before heading towards the tables. "I don't think you should talk like that," The blond reported as he passed a few occupied tables. He liked the cafe at night. It wasn't crowded with a bunch of tiresome mothers, or rowdy teenagers. It was usually occupied with people who sat and kept to themselves. People who had quiet, tiny conversations. It was much more peaceful; much easier. He took a seat at one of the tables away from the other customers and took a quick sip of his coffee, hissing at the burn. "In other words," He continued, shrugging his shoulders. "If you tell me I can take advantage of you whenever I want, I just might. And then I'm sure you'll regret saying that."
Jeremy
Jeremy followed Oliver's lead and sat down his drink in exchange for a fork, he had nearly forgotten about the slice of cake sitting between them. "I don't know how I feel 'bout the title of 'personal servant' but I'm sure you can't be /that/ bad." He cut himself a decent sized bite of the cake and stuck it in his mouth. Chewing, he glanced out a window and noted the dark sky. Jeremy had become accustomed to doing favors for his friends, picking up coffee for Remi in the mornings, letting AJ crash at his place when needed, anything that was possible really. He liked feeling like he could be of some sort of use. Swallowing, he smiled back at Oliver and dipped his head a little. "I guess we wouldn't know until you asked, right?" Jeremy winked playfully and went in for a another bite of the cake. "I can't see you pushin' things too far anyways."
Oliver
Oliver couldn't help but smile amusingly as Jeremy's reaction. He shouldn't be too surprised the boy wasn't completely convinced. Oliver himself wouldn't be able to convince himself. He wasn't somebody to take advantage of someone else's generosity. "I was mostly just kidding," Oliver replied with a shrug as he kept his attention on cutting himself another piece of cake. "I wouldn't really make you do anything for me." He quickly pulled his lips into a smile before taking in the dessert. "But I wouldn't mind you coming over to keep my company every once in awhile. It gets pretty lonely at my place, and I like hanging out with you."
Jeremy
Jeremy sat down his fork as he chewed on his bite of cake, enjoying the way it settled down with his coffee. "I'd probably do more than a couple of things for you." He shrugged and picked up his coffee again, holding the cup between both of his hands. It wasn't hard for him to see himself getting close with Oliver, he seemed easy going and fun. Like someone Jeremy needed more of around him. "I like hangin' out with you too." Jeremy nodded and smiled broadly at the blonde sitting before him. "Definitely wouldn't mind hanging out at your place some time and just chillin'." Still smiling at Oliver, Jeremy reached up and scratched the thick stubble on his jaw. "Just say when and I'll come over and help you feel a little less lonely."
Jeremy
Jeremy watched Oliver, smiling and thinking about how /cute/ he looked. He would have let himself laugh at his own thought if he hadn't been busy with mulling over the boy's questions. Settling his forearms on the table and leaning forward, Jeremy smiled softly and ran his tongue along his top row of teeth. "I think it takes a lot for me to believe that someone's crossin' the line. Right now, we don't have any limitations." Jeremy leaned back against his chair and pulled his jacket off the back, setting it in his lap. "Not nearly enough, if you ask me." He teased with a smile. "Do you want to go now then? I could use a good cuddle right about now."
Oliver
Jeremy's question caused Oliver to light up, and he nodded ecstatically in response. "Yes," He giggled, sitting up straighter. The thought of spending the night snuggling up next to Jeremy made him excited. Who would pass up the opportunity? "I could really use some body heat." He quickly took a hold of his fork, taking in a few more pieces of cake before sliding the plate across the table for Jeremy to finish it. "I'm all finished," He reported with his mouth full. He chuckled at his muffled response before swallowing. "Okay, now I'm done. And I'm ready when you are."
Jeremy
Jeremy looked down at the last pieces of cake and nodded. He took his fork and scooped up most of it, taking big bites and finishing it off as quickly as he could. He found himself eager to get on his way back to Oliver's and cuddle up with him. It wasn't hard to deny that one of Jeremy's favorite things to do was cuddling, as lame as that might sound. Jeremy swallowed his last bite with a smile on his face and pushed the plate back to the center of the table. "Let's go then." He grinned and stood up from his seat, brushing off his shirt and sliding on his jacket. Jeremy picked up his coffee and downed the rest of it's contents and sat down his cup before motioning before him. "Lead the way. Relaxin' with someone like you next to me sounds really nice."
Oliver
Following Jeremy's lead, Oliver moved to his feet and headed toward the front entrance as he looked over his shoulder with a smile. "Are you always this sweet?" He asked, holding the door open for Jeremy to exit. He followed the boy out before meeting up with him, falling into step. He linked elbows with him, hoping he wouldn't mind too much, as he headed down the road toward his house. "I'm glad you're coming with me actually," He commented, shivering silently against him. "As much as I love the nighttime, I hate walking home alone. I get so paranoid sometimes that someone's going to jump out of nowhere." He laughed at how pathetic he sounded, staying close to the other boy as they came closer to his house.
Jeremy
Jeremy smiled and shook his head, chuckling lightly, as Oliver linked arms with him. "I think I just like makin' others happy. I try my best." He took Oliver's compliment to heart and neared closer to him, tightening his grip slightly on his arm. The wind nipped at the top of his ears and the exposed skin on the back of his neck, making his body tense up. "You look like someone who could handle themselves." Jeremy laughed softly and turned to glance quickly at Oliver, smiling. "I know what you mean though. I'd rather be walkin' with someone next to me than on my own, I don't think it matters what time of the day it is." He sniffled a little and looked up to what he assumed was Oliver's house. "I'm glad I'm comin' with you too. Spendin' some time with you sounds better than goin' home to nothing."
Oliver
"You and I are just alike then," Oliver replied with a smile before removing his arm from Jeremy's, immediately regretting it. He walked up the front steps and pulled out his keys, unlocking the door. "And cuddling up against you sounds so much better than studying. I almost considered ditching this whole month so I didn't have to do them." He finally opened the door and held it out for Jeremy, scrunching his nose. "I don't think that'd be very smart though." He shrugged at his comment, before following him inside. "Do you want anything? You can have anything you want. There's tons to eat."
Jeremy
Jeremy watched as Oliver removed himself from their linked arms to unlock his front door, his smile wavering a bit, and stepped inside. "We must be very a like then. I don't think I can remember the last time I wanted to skip out on school so much." He let out an involuntary 'ah' as the warmth of the house hit him. Standing just to the side of the door, Jeremy stuck his hands in his front pockets and glanced around Oliver's home. "Nah, I'm fine. Thanks though." Truth was, Jeremy could have had more to eat but he didn't want to overstep and besides, not eating only meant getting closer to Oliver much faster. "Thanks though." He grinned and took a step towards Oliver. "Show me where we're headin' to now." Jeremy coaxed as he stood before the blond and gingerly grabbed him by the shoulders, rubbing his hands along the other's triceps in an attempt to generate some heat.
Oliver
Oliver loved the feel of Jeremy rubbing his arms. He revelled in the warmth and sense of comfort that radiated. "Let's go upstairs to my room," He reported before taking the boy's hands into his own. He dropped one of his hands, keeping hold of the other as he guided him upstairs. "What did you want to do?" He asked, practically skipping down the hall in excitement. "We can watch a movie." When they arrived to his room, Oliver sauntered in with Jeremy in hand as he kicked piles of clothes that were scattered on the floor, hoping Jeremy wouldn't mind the mess much.
Jeremy
Jeremy grinned as Oliver took his hand and led him to his room. He was realizing how easy and comfortable everything seemed to be with Oliver, effortless almost. "A movie's fine with me. Have anythin' good though? I don't want to fall asleep on you." Jeremy smirked and glanced around Oliver's room. It was messier than his room but it looked comfortable. Still holding onto Oliver's hand, Jeremy moved towards his bed and plopped himself down. "Maybe somethin' scary?" He smiled up at the boy and gave his hand a little tug, pulling him closer. "Just somethin' that won't make me too comfortable." Jeremy teased, finally letting go of Oliver's hand and taking off his jacket.
Oliver
Oliver crossed the room, rummaging through some drawers as he listened to Jeremy's suggestions. Horror films weren't Oliver's ideal films for a movie night but he wasn't totally against the idea. And at least he'd have Jeremy to hold on to if he got too scared. "Why don't you want to get too comfortable?" He asked, setting a few of the movies he found on the bed next to the boy. "You're planning on ditching me?" He huffed out a soft chuckle as he turned on the TV before taking a seat next to Jeremy and holding up the movies. "We've got Child's Play, A Nightmare On Elm Street, Halloween, and When a Stranger Calls. Take your pick."
Oliver
"Just stay," Oliver pleaded, throwing Jeremy a look. "I'd really rather prefer you stay, to be honest. And if you hog the bed, I'm just going to lay on top of you." He shrugged his shoulders and gave the boy a playful smile before moving to his feet to put on the movie. "I won't get nightmares watching this," He continued as he set up the movie. "But I may get a little freaked and cling onto you for dear life." He laughed at himself lightly before pulling leaning over to pull off his own shoes and toss them aside before jumping on the bed, next to Jeremy. "Hope you don't mind." The blond made himself comfortable, lying next to his friend and resting his head on the boy's shoulder as he curled into him.
Jeremy
Jeremy smiled and wrapped an arm around Oliver, holding the boy closer to him. "I don't mind at all." He grinned down at Oliver before turning his attention to the movie. "You can cling on to me all you want and I think I am goin' to stay. There shouldn't be a problem with you layin' on top of me. I like the extra warmth." A soft smile played on his lips as he moved both of them further down into the bed and relaxed himself into the other boy. "I hope you don't do this all the time." Jeremy teased and began to run his fingers through Oliver's blond tresses. "Meet up with guys in coffee shops and take 'em home for a cuddle." He laughed and smiled down at Oliver. "I definitely can't be one to judge but you know." Jeremy winked and bit down on his bottom lip as his smile widened.
Oliver
Oliver leaned into Jeremy's touch, smiling a wide grin as he reveled in the feel of the boy tousling his hair. "I never do this," He replied softly snuggling his face into the crook of Jeremy's neck. "I never have anybody over, actually. Bentley's come over, and Blaise has. But very rarely does it ever happen." Pulling away slightly, he looked up at the boy, curiously. "Why aren't you one to judge? Do you often bring people home for a cuddle? Why haven't I gotten an invitation before?" His smile widened into an open mouthed grin as he cocked an eyebrow.
Jeremy
Jeremy scrunched his nose up a bit at the mention of Bentley's name but kept his smile. "Actaully," he paused and tilted his head to the side. "I haven't had anyone over to cuddle in a while, actually. I"ve been slackin'." Grinning, he reached a finger to Oliver's nose and drug his fingertip along the bridge. "If I would have known how good you were at it I would have ran into you sooner. I might have to call you over all the time now or just show up here whenever I'm in need of a cuddle." Jeremy poked the tip of the boy's nose and grinned cheekily. "I guess I should feel lucky to be layin' in your bed with you then since you don't do this often."
Oliver
Oliver scrunched up his nose as Jeremy pressed his fingertip against his skin and giggled softly. "I'd like that," He responded, tightening his grip around Jeremy's middle. "You're welcome to come over whenever you want. It gets lonely here at night since my mom works so late." After Jeremy tapped his nose, Oliver playfully clasped his teeth together quickly, pretending to try to bite his finger. "You should. I almost didn't ask you to come over, but I didn't want to study, and being right here is a lot better than drowning myself in text books."
Jeremy
Jeremy pulled his finger away and laughed. "I hope hangin' out with me is better than studyin' but you can't blame me if you get bad grades. I know that I'm not /that/ hard to resist." He inched even closer to Oliver and lifted his chin up towards him. "I think you're definitely better than cuddling with my pillow, you're even a little cuter." Licking his lips, Jeremy turned his attention back to the tv and watched the movie idly before turning his attention back to Oliver. The movie wasn't really holding his attention like the boy was. Jeremy looked down and spotted one of Oliver's hands, he ran his fingers along the back of the boy's hand and picked up one of his fingers before dropping it back into place. "I never really see you around. What do you usually do?" He asked as he continued to play with Oliver's hand.
Oliver
Oliver blushed at the compliment, burying his face back into the crook of Jeremy's neck as he tried to stifle another giggle. As great as it felt being complimented, Oliver didn't take compliments too well. He hated blushing. However, he couldn't help but look down at at their hands as Jeremy started playing his, smiling to himself softly as he just watched. "What do you mean? I'm very popular or anything. I don't have sex appeal, and I'm not as confident as most people so people don't really notice me. I mean, I'm sociable and outgoing, but that's mostly in the comfort of my friends. So I don't go to a lot of parties or go out with people."
Jeremy
Jeremy pushed the tips of his fingers to the tips of Oliver's, pushing them up until their palms were flat against each other. It had been awhile since he last hung out with someone like this and he was enjoying the innocence of it all. He smiled softly and looked down at their hands, his fingers were a little longer than Oliver's but the boy's fingers were thicker than his. "You not confident and lackin' sex appeal?" Jeremy laughed and slotted his fingers with Oliver's. "I think only a pretty confident person would ask someone to come over and cuddle after a cup of coffee." He kept his eyes on their hands as he spoke, a sly smirk tugging on his lips. "As for the sex appeal thing or whatever, I'd like to beg to differ. I think you've got it."
Oliver
Oliver looked down at their hands as the boy laced his fingers with his own, looking up at Jeremy with a grin afterwords. He loved how natural it felt with him. "I wouldn't call that confidence," He stated softly before slipping his leg's between Jeremy's, intertwining them. "It was more on impulse than anything." Rolling his eyes at himself a bit, his attention was drawn from the boy he was practically on top of for a moment as he heard a faint scream coming from the television. He had forgot they were even watching a movie. He wasn't exactly sure what was even going on. "I do not have sex appeal," He scoffed, turning back to Jeremy with knitted eyebrows. "Only one person has ever wanted to have sex with me. If I had sex appeal, I'm sure a lot more people would be lining up for some of this."
Jeremy
Hearing the commotion from the television, Jeremy looked past Oliver and tried to place what was happening in the movie. Deciding that it was hopeless and the movie didn't ever matter anymore, Jeremy laughed and rolled his eyes playfully as he looked back to the blond. He shifted underneath the boy's weight and smiled. The time passed and they only seemed to become more and more tangled in one another. "You can believe whatever you want to believe but I think you've got it. How would you know that /only/ one person has ever wanted to have sex with you?" Jeremy raised his eyebrows and smirked. "Not everybody's goin' to come up to you and ask to take a roll in the sheets with you. They're not all so forward." Jeremy laughed and brought their intertwined fingers up to his mouth, lightly grazing the other's boys knuckles against his lips.
Jeremy
Jeremy laugh quietly at Oliver's questions and rubbed his lips together, pulling their hands away from his mouth and settling them on his stomach. He smiled ad looked at Oliver. "Well," he started before taking a deep breath and laughing again. "I don't know if I really want to put a number to the amount of people I've slept with. Let's just say that I could use more than two hands to count all of 'em." He ran his thumb against Oliver's and thought for a second. "I haven't had sex lately though. I've kinda put a halt to it but, it's easy for me. I am confident 'bout it." Jeremy shrugged and smile warily at Oliver. "Do you think that's a bad thing? Sleepin' with whoever you can get?" He had never thought about it himself before. It had just seemed like an easy and natural thing.
Oliver
Oliver snickered at Jeremy's reply as he moved his free hand back down and rested it between them. He sometimes wondered what it was like being so well-liked. Being so attractive where people were constantly flirting with and complimenting them. He wished he was like that. But he never really got that attention. He didn't exactly think he was ugly. People had told him he was cute. But pets were cute. Children were cute. He wanted to be hot. He wanted to be desirable. "I don't think that's a bad thing. As long as it's okay with you and the person you're doing it with. You have control over your body. If you're comfortable with your sexuality, do whatever you want with it."
Jeremy
Jeremy nodded and rested his head against Oliver's, smiling as he glanced over at the tv. The movie was well on and he had no idea what was going on. Watching the movie but not actually paying attention, Jeremy opened his mouth to speak again but instead brought their hands back up to his lips and pressed his lips to the back of Oliver's hand. Someone on screen had just suffered a brutal death and Jeremy lowered their hands once again. "That was a good answer." He mumbled and lifted his head away from Oliver's. "Personally," he looked away from the tv and glanced back at Oliver. "I don't see why anybody /wouldn't/ want to have sex with you."
Oliver
Oliver smiled, watching Jeremy mess with their hands. The boy found it nice knowing someone felt that way about him. If only other people had felt that way. He kept his eyes on their hands, his eyes beginning to droop as he was suddenly overcome with a feeling of drowsiness. "Thanks," He muttered softly before burying his face back into the crook of Jeremy's neck as he yawned. "You're a really great friend."
Jeremy
Jeremy yawned in turn to Oliver and nodded his head, feeling his eyelids suddenly become heavy. "No problem, love." He looked at the movie dully and watched as the actor's on screen muddled into each other. Laying there with Oliver had really comforted him and now all he could think about was how nice it would be to fall asleep right there. "You're just great." He stated before yawning again. "I think I just wanna sleep now." Laughing quietly, he let his lids fall shut and relaxed himself further against Oliver.
Oliver
Oliver himself was beginning to grow tired, moving his body closer to Jeremy as he made himself comfortable. He was suddenly happy he took that break and went to the cafe, happy he ran into Jeremy. "Me too," He replied softly as his eye lids fluttered shut. He sighed deeply as he stayed quiet for a moment, listening to Jeremy's breathing. "Goodnight Jeremy," He whispered as he began to drift off.
