I was half asleep and my mind wouldn't shut up about pinesot4, so if that's not your vibe, don't click read more. If it is, I have twofer - SFW and NSFT.

So, I usually don't entertain all 4 pines together but something about the heat tonight got me thinking about them. Anyway, I had two thoughts.

Stan is the only member of the 4 pines to refuse to enter a relationship with them. Stan and Ford had a previous relationship as teens, and while Ford has tried to get back with him, Stan has declined each time, not because he does not love Ford but because he just has some trust issues related to Ford. The kids, of course, causes him a hell of a lot of stress because hello? Those are his grand niece and nephew? Ford is ecstatic because it reminds him so much of him and Stan and the trio bond, which ultimately results in the three of them falling for each other and getting together. The kids are vocal about their affection and attraction for Stan, but he strongly refuses to enter any kind of relationship with them, not because he doesn't feel the same way (like with Ford), but he refuses to let himself get back in with a relationship with a family member, especially the two most important people in his life. The trio accepts this but are sadden about Stan's refusal. For a bit, it's ok, the Trio keeps to themselves and respects Stans wishes to not be involved, but later, the trio comes to a conscious that they should be trying to prove to Stan that they love him and want him as he is. So starts this game of flirtation, and Stan is frustrated because he is so weak to them, but he just can't. It doesn't matter how many times Ford looks at him with the love of 40 long years, whispering nostalgic memories in his ear, and how deeply he wants to rekindle their love. It doesn't matter how Mabel tenderly takes his hand and wraps her body around his for a cuddle and talks and talks and talks about how safe she has always felt with him and how he's his favorite (but don't tell the others) and how she wants to express that affection he has always given her. It doesn't matter how attentive and confident Dipper explains his affections for Stan, how he feels like he has become a better man, friend, and family member because of Stan's influence and how he wants nothing more but to be a man that Stan could count on, could love forever. Stan is a weak weak weak man. He can't keep fighting them. It all comes ahead when they all target him at the same time in the living room, and he has no more strength to resist and lets them love him. He kisses Ford back with tears in his eyes of a long lost love finally returning to him. He kisses Mabel with the taste of bubble mouthwash and soda in her mouth, like a welcome home, warm and inviting. He kisses Dipper with proudness and hope, pouring every ounce of protection he has over the boy and his endeavors. It leaves him wet eyed and so very happy, finally cuddled on his bed, exactly where they all belonged.

Stancest but Dipper also has a crush on Stan and Mabel on Ford. Dipper gets jealous of Ford and Mabel of Stan but soon the younger Pines twins just realize they had crushes on each other and were just projecting on the older twins

It would start when they find out about the grunks relationship (theyve been projecting themselves on those old men so hard, in so many different ways, its crazy) and just escalate from there.

Like dipper, who sees himself as ford and Mabel as stan (even if he doesnt realize it) not only getting jealous when he sees Ford being all touchy with Stan, cause he's convinced his crush is on Stan, but also when he sees Mabel trying to spend more time with ford he just starts seething. And just being a little asshole about it like glaring at Ford thinking: "Cant have shit around here."

Cause yes he wants Stan but also he doesnt want Ford going anywhere near Mabel.

And Mabel, bless her sweet heart, going from Stans #1 supporter to his biggest hater. Stan cannot catch a break when it comes to her and she's so passive aggressive but in a sweet way that it has him confused. He cant go near Ford (or Dipper) without incurring her silent wrath. He'll offer her breakfast and get a: "Why don't you ask if dipper wants stancakes." and stan's just *kicked puppy face* because he doesnt know what's going on.

And both of the Stan feel like they're getting whiplash cause the younger twins have gone full 180° on them.

So then youd have the stans just laying together confused after a long day of walking on eggshells like:

Ford: I think Mason hates me now?

Stan: Eh, thats not too bad. Mabels plotting my demise.

Ford: Thats interesting... She asked to go with me on my next "excursion"

Stan: Dipper told me I "look nice"...

Stan: Body snatchers?

I think it'd take forever for them to realize what their feelings actually are. Dipper only has a crush on Stan because he's eccentric and weird in all the ways that remind him of Mabel and the same goes for Mabel with Fords nerdiness and excitement for all things weird.

I dont know how they would figure it out but I just imagine afterwards them going back to their Grunks all remorseful and apologizing.

Dipper shuffling into the lab like:

Dipper frowned and gave a curt nod. 

Stan nodded his own confirmation, though he rolled his eyes as he did so.

Mabel, however, pursed her lips in confusion. 

Ford cleared his throat. "I want to preface that I am not here to specifically call any one person out, but to address this as a group." 

His gaze swept around the table again in a grand show of equality. It paused, however, to linger with significance on his niece. "The 'public displays of affection', we'll call them, need to be toned down. People are...starting to talk."

Mabel gaped like he'd announced holding hands was a crime now punishable by firing squad. "Wha - come on, seriously?! I can't show my own family I love and appreciate them?" 

"I am compelled to point out that performing fellatio in the grocery store parking lot, in the middle of a bright summer's day, is not an appropriate public show of familial appreciation," said Ford. He looked over pointedly at Stan. "Right, Stanley?" 

Stan threw his arms up. "Hey, it was her idea! Besides, I parked the car in the back of the lot, nobody saw!"

"Then how, exactly, do I know about it?"

Silence stretched for several long moments. 

Ford moved on. "Dipper, you mentioned an incident at the pool. Would you like to share with everyone?"

Dipper looked apologetically at his sister and began hesitantly, though his voice grew stronger as his story gained momentum. "Mabel, you put me in an awkward spot at the pool last week. When you asked if you could give me a kiss, I assumed you meant on the cheek. Not on the mouth. With tongue. In front of literally everyone! I like it when we do those things alone, not around people from town!"

Mabel huffed and crossed her arms. "It's Gravity Falls, no one cares! Tell them it's normal back home." 

"Uh, California is progressive, but its not that progressive," replied Dipper and Stan snorted. 

"So," said Ford, feeling good about the outcome of the discussion, "I think we've all learned that certain activities should stay more confidential. The enthusiasm is appreciated, but there is a time and a place. And that place is not in public. I think that about wraps things up. Thank you all for your attenti-"

"Hey, Grunkle Ford," Mabel cut in, arms still crossed but with a sly smile spreading over her face, "anything you'd like to confess to?"

Ford had been a lighthouse of self-righteousness up until that moment, and at Mabel's words, he visibly dimmed to more of a pocket flashlight of self-righteousness. He stood and began to edge away from the table. "Not at all. My conscience is quite clear. Unfortunately, I do need to check on an experiment down in the lab -"

Stan flung out an arm to block his exit. "Whoa, hang on! You singled Mabel out for all her PDA, It wouldn't be fair if you didn't own up to yours."

"Yeah, don't be shellfish! Give us the facts to tide us over," Mabel grinned, relishing the rare double opportunity to ruffle Ford's composed feathers and make terrible puns.

Dipper grimaced, then looked suspiciously between the two of them as pieces fell into place. "Wait, did something happen on our trip to the Aquarium last month? Is that why you guys disappeared for 40 minutes?"

"Perhaps," said Mabel, giving Ford a last chance to fess up.

"It wasn't in public, so there's nothing to tell. There was no chance of discovery," said Ford, indignant. He shot her a warning glance, which she promptly ignored. 

"We did unspeakable things in the bathroom behind the jellyfish exhibit," she announced. "The whale calls got us all hot and bothered."

"It was single occupancy with a very secure lock on the door!" Ford tossed out as a life saver for his sinking position of being right. Stan wasn't having it.

"It's literally called a public restroom, that's way worse than what I did! If that's where you guys went, then why'd she come back with that giant stuffed narwhal? The tag said 60 bucks!" Stan looked disturbed and scandalized for the first time since the meeting began. 

"I may have earned a trip to the gift shop," Mabel said, extremely pleased with herself.

Dipper was shaking his head. "Sorry, whale calls?"

"They're very romantic," Mabel said, and stared dreamily off into the distance.

"Indeed. Quite an impressive and alien beauty," agreed Ford seriously.

Stan had seemingly resigned himself to another afternoon of abnormality and sighed. "This is a weird fuckin' family."
