But I kinda think it must actually work cuz all that slimy serum went somewhere!! The first time I used the FOREO UFO blue tooth-enabled “smart mask” device, I didn’t really get it. There was serum everywhere, and the mask came off the device. It was a big mess. I took a breath and tried again. Once I figured it out, I actually think it’s kinda cool. The UFO device itself is really substantive — it doesn’t feel cheap; it’s heavier than an iPhone and feels solid in your hand. Though it’s a bit awkward running it over your face as the thing moans, vibrates, warms and cools. It syncs up with an iPhone app that actually sounds like a female version of the HAL computer in 2001: A Space Odyssey. FOREO says that as it utilizes “hyper-infusion technology, UFO integrates thermo-therapy and cryo-therapy to push mask essence into skin’s surface and lock in moisture…” There are several mask disks to choose from — ones that brighten, hydrate, mattify, even one that infuses skin with collagen. After sweeping the device over your face for a min or two (don’t forget your neck!), the process winds down and the creepy computer chick tells you to take some more time to relax. I didn’t. I started writing this! And I like the results. My face was nearly dry, slime-free and felt soft, smooth, fresh and beaming! Can I do another one?! So, is it worth $279??
