ATTENTION ALL LGBT+ MEMBERS! I AM WORKING ON A MUSIC VIDEO TO CELEBRATE THE LEGALIZATION OF GAY MARRIAGE ACROSS THE USA, & YOU COULD BE FEATURED IN IT!

So forestghouls & I have decided we want to do a cover & make a music video of the timeless song “Can’t Help Falling In Love” (originally performed by Elvis Presley) to celebrate the legalization of gay marriage in the US. The music video idea has so much potential, but we won’t be able to do it without your help!

WHAT YOU NEED:

1) A film camera (or a webcam; it doesn’t matter what kind of camera as long as it’s fairly decent quality).

2) A note card.

3) A sharpie or a black marker / thick black pen.

4) Your beautiful, smiling face!

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO:

There are two kinds of videos we are accepting. It is fine if you choose to do one but not the other, but it would be great if we got as much participation as possible!

1) In the prologue of the video, we will be featuring clips of people sharing what this change in our government law means & how it affects us individually as people. Talk about what this means to you, & express what the legalization of gay marriage means from the perspective a member of the LGBT+ community (make sure to keep this clip under 2 minutes! we are probably going to edit it so that we put in our favorite quotes & things that people say!)

2) Throughout the sequence of the music video, we will be sharing clips of people who are holding up note cards with at least one or two sentences about how this affects their rights as a human being. It could be anything as sweet as, “I can finally marry the love of my life now,” or something as factual as, “I got to witness history being made on June 25th, 2015.” The music WILL be playing over these clips, so be sure to not talk during these video clips! If you’re not comfortable with showing your face, feel free to edit yourself out & just hold up the note card in front of your chest (even though we would love to see everyone’s smiling faces!) This clip can be anywhere from 10 seconds to 20 seconds long.

WE WILL NOT ACCEPT:

1) Any messages that preach hate, discrimination, or any other forms of verbal slander. We’re here to celebrate love, so make sure that your message is full of love!

2) Any bashing of the government, any of the states, etc. Yeah, some states as a whole wanted us to stay in the closet, but we are gonna leave anyone from Salty Sally’s Spittoon behind!

3) Any messages asking for a hookup. We are not a dating website. We are flaming homos who just want to make flaming music videos.

4) NO NUDITY. I KNOW WE ARE GAY, BUT PLEASE. KEEP IT PG.

5) Also no swearing because we wanna keep it PG like we want kids & adults alike to be able to watch this vid & be like, “Someday I’ll be able to marry the love of my life”

BONUS POINTS IF:

1) You have a significant other who is willing to participate in this video with you! We’d love to see happy couples full of joy & innocent kissies.

2) You know an elder homosexual couple who would be willing to participate in this video.

3) You’re in a long-distance relationship, & your partner is willing to Skype the video with you (lots of hand-hearts & blowing kisses!)

4) You’re in a heterosexual relationship, & your partner recognizes that you have obtained your marriage rights since you are bi/pan

5) You are demi/gray/aro/ace, & recognize that should you ever find someone that you end up caring for mutually, you have a legal right to your own happiness.

6) You aren’t from the USA, but still wish to participate in the video to congratulate our stride as a nation to accomplish another step forward in LGBT+ rights.

NO, you do NOT to be in a relationship to be a part of this video! As long as you are willing to follow the rules, we will accept any videos that are sent in to us!
