Today is the International Day of Forests, Mar. 21.
This photo is from forest in Aklan, located in the Central Panay Mountain Range. This mountainous spine of Panay is home to extensive forests and endangered endemic species. Communities dependent on the forest also reside there.
Today we not only celebrate the forests of our planet, but also what they continue to give, and represent, for all life.
