It was like another lifetime ago wasn’t it? When we first met and thought it was just us against the world. Hours we’d stay up late, thinking we were the only two who really understood the other. Soulmates. And then everything came to a rushing stop. And that was the end of that life. Did we grow up finally? Having those aching questions finally answered, did it calm our perspective? …or was the timing just too far off? …and flooded with too many unsettling emotions all at once. Now it’s like looking into someone else’s life when I think back on those times. And though I feel contented and happy with where I am now. I wonder about another life. When were both cats.
