A pride month motivated post… I have been labeled gay my entire life. As far back as I can remember. The idea was forced into my brain growing up. I really thought for the longest time that I am. But still, when it came down to being honest and open with those closest to me, I’ve always maintained the same misleading answer only because I didn’t know what I should “label” myself as other than “gay” “bi” … I am finally comfortable to say it out loud and to everyone, I am not gay. I’ve never felt 100% gay. So I’ve searched, deep dove, read so much and now I understand a little more. I am now convinced and comfortable to share the truth of how I feel. I am Obi. I am Myself. I am a Pan Sexual individual. It’s okay to not understand, and it’s okay to start learning about yourself and what your true identity is at any time/age you are. Swipe for positivity—-> First photo is from yesterday. I woke up and felt like I got hit by a train. My entire body was aching and breathing was rough. There was this nasty taste in my throat and my neck almost couldn’t hold my head up. I had chills and I was sweating. Feeling hot then cold then hot then cold.. it was miserable and I’ve never experienced anything like it. Ever. Second post is how I felt in the morning. P.S. I had to run back to my car so don’t judge my heavy breathing lol and the Third one is because I felt kinda cute. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Today I feel like a million bucks. Like nothing was wrong with me yesterday. It’s weird. My mattress needs replaced tho. I think all of the above fell into it last night. 😆 Long story shorter, if you’re scared like me, it’s worth it. It will save lives and it will take this permanent disease to lower levels to where it becomes controlled and managed. I miss normal life. I want to hug people again. I want to walk around with NO MASK. I just miss life. I hope everyone is having a fantastic spring. I kinda miss Instagram but I’m more of a Twitter kinda guy now. AHHHH 2020. What a year. Everything stopped for EVERYONE on earth. COVID has been the major concern and 2020 will sadly be always affiliated with the pandemic. Our front line heroes are our angels. To sacrifice your own life to help save a life is so selfless and deserves recognition and a standing ovation. This year our republic/democracy was finally saved. Voters turned out in millions and more than ever before in American History. Thank you to every voter that did their patriotic responsibility. It doesn’t matter what party you voted for, we are all equal and we all want the same thing; to live in safe communities and to thrive and provide to our families. We all want happiness and we all have a choice of MAKING IT HAPPEN. I have been blessed enough to keep a job throughout the year and work to help people all around the country get items they desperately need. And I have been blessed enough to meet new people, to progressively get promoted, earn my job and work towards a great career 🤞🏼 Usually I use my social media like a diary. This year is no exception. My mom is healthy and perfect. My brother and his wife got the best gift from God. Miah. My healthy niece and the cutest baby I have ever seen. My three sisters are thriving and happy. My family is so so important to me. They are my #1 and I am forever grateful for the love and acceptance they give me. This year, We lost so much as nations of the world but one thing this pandemic couldn’t take from us, is our love and compassion to one another. If anything, it grew. My message to everyone reading this, find the best moments you’ve had this year and celebrate them. Be happy they happened. Look forward to a better future for yourself and for others. Don’t look at the negative, always look at the glass half full because it’s enough to satisfy your thirst. The very first picture is the reason I’m posting tonight. This is the way it has always been. THE PEOPLE getting down and cleaning the mess that THE GOVERNMENT has made. The chairs under their asses are more important than the blood of their own people. Spending decades in stealing from the people, so they can enjoy their mansions. My brothers and sisters and loved ones in Lebanon, I’m so so sorry that the ignorance of whom you’ve trusted, has caused this awful and sickening thing to happen. I’ve been speechless. These past 6 months have been an eye opener to the entire world. From, #COVID to #blacklivesmatter to #stonewallanniversary to seeing how much #racism is still alive and is still infecting our homes, schools, neighborhoods and countries, we haven’t had a mental break. We actually turned 2020 into a year that will go down history as the year people finally stood up for whats right and their simple right of understanding the existence of the many flaws in our system. I’ve seen the videos, I’ve lived through the awful treatment of the Black, Hispanic, Muslim and LGBTQIA+ communities and this time around I haven’t been able to come up with the words. I’ve already lost 3 important people this year. But I gained a niece. I’ve seen hate and bullying but I’ve also seen kindness and love. I’ve overworked myself but I’m seeing results. I urge every single one of you to find the good in every bad. To understand that your way isn’t always the only way. Others matter. Others exist. Others hurt. Be supportive of human rights. Be understanding and open for change. It’s time to stop saying; “they’re just ignorant and don’t know any better”. It’s time for them to learn and educate themselves, and for you to teach and educate them. Take an hour of your video games time and spend it learning, searching, and trying to understand what is outside of your own home. Otherwise, whatever you achieve in life, won’t give you the same feeling of serenity as to knowing you did your best in your lifetime working on yourself, and helping others work on themselves. It’s time for us all to unite and make our union a historic, peaceful and ground breaking union. My ONE wish is that the second half of 2020 bring you nothing but love, security and peace of mind. It’s been one week since Melissa left. Which means another Saturday without her weekly call and her Saturdays voicemails. I have been mourning her every single day. No idea how I faked my way through this week. But I know that she would be so proud. Melissa was very artistic. Very familiar with history and music and movies, too. She enjoyed decorating for the Holidays so much, especially Christmas and Halloween. Her 3 "furry babies” Blue, Tally & Saya were her everything. God she loved them so much. In the years I’ve known her, she never missed an occasion, a holiday, a birthday, even Valentine’s Day she would text and call to show love. She was a great friend, a great wife, a great mother and such a great cook. She made a homemade vegetarian salsa that was so so so good. She was so beautiful with piercing blue eyes but she didn’t like taking pictures. She would randomly get me Britney shirts and stickers and even a rare cassette of BOMT. She cried the day I got my citizenship. She trusted and valued my opinions. She was just THAT girl. Absolutely selfless. I love her so much. I wish I got one last chance just to say bye. Just one last phone call. Just one last Saturday fireball. Just ONE. Anyways, we’ve talked about going to Vegas and your only condition was to be under an umbrella because you didn’t like the sun heat so I’m going to Vegas. Today is April 21st of 2020. Things could be better but things could always be worse. We have nothing to fear but fear itself and I’d like you to think of worrying just like a rocking chair, It gives you something to do, but never gets you anywhere. What a March it’s been!! I’ve never in my entire life seen any scarier situation. People are dying. People are flooding hospitals in the entire world. The Coronavirus is not something we should take lightly, it’s a pandemic. I’m begging you my friends, stay socially distant and keep at least 3-6 feet between you and others. Act like you have the virus. Save yourself and save others. The elders are at a huge risk and we should all make it as easy as possible for them to get their groceries and give them a chance to stay inside as long and content as possible. That doesn’t mean the rest of us are immune. Basically, we ALL are at risk. And safety starts with each single one of us. Wash your hands every 30 minutes. Use antibacterial soap, sanitizer and wipes.
