The Great Bidoof Chase || Barry & Gardenia

"Okay, Bidoof! Welcome to the winningest team in all of Kanto, also known as The Sensational Barry Six!" the blonde exclaimed enthusiastically to his newest catch. As a sudden serious air came over him, Barry looked out over Eterna Forest with a dramatic, faraway glance. "Someday, if you work with me 100 percent, you too could be on this squadron of greats!" 

Bidoof held Barry's gaze for a second, then scampered off behind a thick grove of trees.

Taking a few moments to process what had just happened, Barry was then quick to give chase. "Hey, come back! Let's see a Tackle! What about one of those prized Growls?" the blonde wheedled desperately, trying fruitlessly to bypass the thick stand of trees in his way. If only I still had a Pokemon that could learn Cut... Barry mused sadly, slumping against one of the thick tree trunks. 

Suddenly, Barry noticed a shock of orange hair through the trees, whistling and carrying a watering can. Breaking into a grin, the Trainer knew that Gardenia was here, tending to her flowers. He also knew that Gardenia gave out the HM Cut, which would be useful in finding his aloof Bidoof. 

Bursting out of a thicket and undoubtedly scaring the poor Gym Leader half to death, Barry didn't spare a breath. "Hey, Miss Gardenia! Remember me? Barry? The challenger in your Gym from long ago? Bang! Weeeeell, I caught a Pokemon in this forest and it's hiding behind some trees and I can't get to it! I know that you're usually against using Cut on the trees, but I was wondering if you could do it for me, just this once!"

His ramble finished, Barry looked up at Gardenia with the most pleading expression Arceus had ever seen. Pleasepleaseplease...
