How long was the timespan between the Forgeman heading off to the woods to die and returning to civilization?

What was the Forgeman's favorite thing to make?
Up for debate, but probably armor. It took more time than her weapons did, and it was probably so time-consuming and took so much concentration on her part that she kinda went off in her own little world for a while while she made it and it was nice for her.
And it was the best way she could protect her Moirail/Matesprit while he was away from her
