What’s your fandom’s most overused trope?
All tropes known to man have left my mind
Okay, I am the worst with naming tropes because I totally don’t see stories like that, but here’s what I see the most in the fics I read:
The Hunger Games: Slow Burn
Katniss, the true queen of Slow Burn Romance, being very much in denial about Peeta’s VERY CLEAR feelings towards her and second guessing all of his actions. He 👏🏻likes👏🏻you👏🏻that’s why👏🏻he👏🏻kissed👏🏻 you!
I love it so so so much, but the impatient reader in me is always like “WHEN WILL YOU CUDDLE IN BED AND BE HAPPY TOGETHER?” And other things
There’s a lot of slow burns in Everlark fics, I’m quickly remembering. 😛
Once Upon a Time: Drunk/(Medically) Drugged Confession Time about Feelings
Nothing beats saying “I love you” while being drunk or drugged while saying it! I notice these confessions come mainly from Emma, who has put up many walls, and who just needs to let go for the night before Killian takes care of her drunk ass and it accidentally comes out while she’s doing something like boop his nose. I don’t know if it’s overused, but I love it. Add in these confessions being forgotten the next day? *chef’s kiss*
What aspect of writing have you had the most growth in?
While it still feels like pulling teeth (As you definitely know since I’m always whining about it to you baha), I’d like to say describing imageries/ emotions/thoughts in a poetic and “soft” way. I still have to go back after my initial drafts to elaborate and describe things, fix words that carry more weight, but I’m always really proud of the works that are more thought-based than dialogue-based because man, I had to put some sweat and tears into it!
I’d also like to think my dialogue has improved over the years, as well! That it has a bit more bite to it that’s appropriate for the moment and character(s). And that my world building has improved BY A TON with Crown. I was never able to world build as much as Crown has required. 😁
