Going Home Early
When I was little I got to live with my biological mom until one day I was taken away. I could've grown up on my reservation but none of my other family members were stable enough. So I grew up learning Mexican traditions. I enjoyed some of it but through my whole life I just wish I could've grown with my tribe traditions. Learning the language, songs, and dances. My heart aches for those on my reservation who are trying their hardest to keep the culture alive. I believe I’m ready to write my second song. A song about the decolonization, a song about the traditions, a song about the warriors and their victories.
Yours Truly,
Forgotten Raven Spirit
