I scoured the Internet for an hour and couldn't find the information I was looking for in regards to this script before turning from my desk, taking two steps to the occult reference bookshelf in my office, and finding the information I needed to write this scene in 30 seconds. There's a lesson there, friends: Physical media is your friend. The Early Access Steam store page is live! You can now add Forgotten Lore to your wishlist in anticipation for the launch of Early Access sometime in late May. The game will be $10 USD during Early Access, but will be free to play when it launches in late 2016 - early 2017.

Steam
The game’s store page is finally live! As it says above, it will be $10 USD during Early Access and is planned on being free to play when it launches. The current plan is for early access players to get to keep any cards / items / gold / stats they earn while helping test. The reason for the price tag during Early Access is simply to help support development during these early stages. We need time to build up the server infrastructure for lots of players to join, so I’d rather start small and build up rather than a bunch of people join during day 1 of early access, see laggy servers, and leave bad reviews. I hope everyone understands!
Bot’s now have contextual dialog!
The bots are now able to speak! They respond to different situations that unfold in the game. For example, if they are losing they will comment about how they’ll never give up! If they are winning they might rub it in your face. It depends on which bot you are faced up against, really. Fraycia is a qt who will be nice and friendly with you; Boago is an asshole who will rub dirt in your face to make himself feel better. I believe this system will add a lot to the game, especially for when you’re wanting to just test out a deck.
New cards!
I’ve added Antidote and Awaken to the collection of card drops in the game. Antidote is pretty self explanatory, it cures poison: all stacks! Awaken allows you to activate a sleeping card. This means that if you play a card on the field, you can then use the Awaken card to immediately activate the card so you can use it’s abilities (such as attack) on the same turn! As a consequence, you can do the following: Play card -> next turn attack with that card -> use awaken -> attack with that card a second time, all within the same turn. Sort of like charge in other cardgames, but with a bit more power/flexibility.
Mill Tome
The Mill Tome is finally in! The tome has been in the dropdown list for awhile but is now finally functional. You will notice that you do not get -1 HP +2 Souls each turn when the mill tome is equipped, this is because that is a feature of the Leech Tome! Instead, Mill Tome’s only source of Souls is the cards within it. You sacrifice cards from your hand in exchange for souls to summon/use cards! This whole system is still pretty early, so expect a lot of it to change balance-wise.
Rewards!
After a match, you now have a change of earning EXP / Gold / Card drops! At the moment, every 100 EXP is 1 level, but expect this to change in the future. Gold will be used to purchase card packs in the store, which will be implemented soon. EXP / Levels are really just so you can see how much your opponent has played, compared to yourself. It will remain seperate from MMR (matchmaking stuff).
Bugs / Changes
This weekend’s update is mostly bug oriented. I fixed an insane amount of problems from the last version that was released to pre-early access testers. Here’s a little list:
>Can no longer edit an existing deck while matchmaking
>Fixed a horrible networking bug that would have bit us in the butt later
>Auto reconnects when there is a networking failure
>Added a “waiting on other player” message before the match begins
>Misc enemy AI fixes such as attacking from their hand, playing too many cards, and the graphics on spell cards being played from any enemy being buggy
>Fix for stuff in the options menu not working
>Fixed new lines in the bug reporter breaking the bug reporter (heh)
>The deck editor now also shows the skills of cards, similar to the cards in-game. Oversight on my part for not doing this earlier.
Conclusion
Hope you guys are looking forward to this weekends update! It should hit either tonight or tomorrow night! Thanks for reading the devblogs!
