But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”-1 Samuel: 7

In society we are so inclined to judge others by their appearances instead of their personality and heart. This has affected most people at some point in their lives and it makes them in a sense what is known to be ‘shallow’. This scripture reminds us that in Gods eyes we are all beauty yet He doesn't not focus on what we look like on the outside but instead focuses on our heart and soul and what kind of person we are. The Lord sees your heart, because that is where every action and decision you take is oriented from. This also goes with the saying that ‘outside appearances can be deceiving’. In other words you may try and fool those around you but God sees you for who you really are.

“Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the Lord is a God who knows, and by Him deeds are weighed.”-1 Samuel 2-3

I think sometimes it is so easy to forget that we are only human and that we are not superior than God. We boost are ego so much that when someone calls us out we just boost some more that we become way to arrogant. As this verse states, God knows and weights everything we do and say and even what we don’t say. It’s always best to humble yourself and stay kind. Take pride in being humble and worship the Lord everyday for He is so good even in difficult times, He is always there.
