FAIRYTALE CANADA - A guardian Cormorant surveys a natural history of Blue Whales and their past and present threats - Dedicated to the belugas locked up in a pool at Marineland and all animals in captivity, threatened or in danger from human actions. From images I saw on my latest trip to the east coast of Canada and based on the story of an interpreter at Forillon National Park (the cottages on the left are there ) and the Grand Grave Heritage site where he told me a blue whale had passed by and stayed there for three days. Only based on that conversation I did this painting because I never got to see one unfortunately. Only 250 blue whales visit the St. Lawerence every summer, they would not calf there but it was important to show the tenderness of this moment their calls before the tanker traffic could carry almost as far as 2000 kms. To hear their sound visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvBw1g2Ao8k
Hopefully images like this can help bring consciousness to all as our government threatens to build another pipeline that will end up affecting all animals and living beings and whales in particular.
