Today I was teaching my form one (ninth grade) class about nouns. I began by asking them to say their names, and decide whether they were nouns. Then I began having them list animals, again deciding if they qualified as nouns. Just after someone volunteered "hyena," I saw something go flying across the room. I went to retrieve it from the floor, only to realize it was a (very frightened) baby bird! Needless to say, I was not prepared to give a "we do not throw living creatures across the classroom" lecture during my second week of teaching🙄 #kunokumalawi #pcmalawi #FormOnesAreTheWorst
