Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his monthly radio address, 'Mann ki Baat' is the programme for people not for him or government. He added that radio is the medium to connect with people.
When the programme started, he said, he had decided that it would carry nothing political or any praise to the government or himself. He was addressing the public through its 50th episode.
"Modi may come and go, but the country will be here only. We never let to go its culture that should always be immortal." PM said
He could understand the potential of radio in 1998 when he was working in BJP. So that only the preferred radio even it is the era of social media.
He remembered about the tea seller at a remote area of Himachal Pradesh who told him about the news that India carrying out a nuclear test. He wondered how a tea seller in that snow clad hilly remote area known about this news. It was only because of the influence of radio. According to Modi radio is the only medium to connect with the mass.
