"The closet was glass" that's not the poooooiiiiint.
The point isn't that "we all knew" or whatever, the point is that these two men- who grew up closeted, went through college at a time when it was even harder to be queer than it is now, spent years hiding their sexuality, and then further years after coming out still hiding their relationship- have reached a point where they both felt brave enough to come out and talk about everything. And those of us who have been following the both of them for years, especially those of us who had our own struggles with being queer during our formative years, are so damn proud.
This isn't about validating your ship or whatever, this is about two real people who have been through a lot, once again being brave and letting us into a private part of their lives that realistically they had every right to continue hiding from us if they so wanted.
