So, when i first started reading Iruma-kun and i saw Sabnock, the only thing i could think was "holy fuck that's just Hiruma Yoichi from Eyeshield 21"

LIKE. THAT'S JUST HIRUMA. A BIGGER AND BUFFER HIRUMA

ironically tho, between the actual demon from the netherworld, and the very human football player, Sabnock is by far nicer and the least demonic/evil of the two.

Hiruma is, well.

Well. To put it simply. More than a little unhinged.

To give a short summary of Hiruma Youchi, he's the captain and quarterback of the Deimon highschool Devil Bats.

He's incredibly intelligent, and once memorized a book of unique hand signs that the team manager made the previous night, within 30 seconds, and then burned it so it couldn't be leaked, and then insulted the manager using it

Unsurprisingly, his go to plans of action usually involve trick plays, manipulation, and psychological warfar.

He has blackmail on people on an international level (including random hotels in America, the school principal, and pretty much every person in Japan) and frequently uses it to his advantage so he can gain more people to increase his information network

He's the richest character in the series by way of gambling, and the most expensive thing he owns is an island (this is never elaborated on outside of an FAQ in manga bonus pages)

He owns more artillery than god and casually carries it with him everywhere and had a weapons silo installed on school grounds, he once brought a tank to the school festival

And at the age of 10, he beat a ton of US soldiers at gambling and took all their money (they had only just taught him the rules right before)

This is a manga about american football

And Hiruma isn't even the main character

Tho he and Sabnock do share one more similarity

"Why do you want to be the Demon King?"

"Why do you play American Football?"

Anyway please read Eyeshield 21 it's a fantastic manga i swear and i need more people to read this please there are so many more fantastic characters and stories and it's just super fun and silly and over the top and hilarious and heartwarming and please im begging here
