Like an impatient child, Zero found himself poking and pinching Odin’s cheek over and over again, until the dark mage finally opened his eyes. When he did, he would see quite the bundle in the outlaw’s arms. There was a colourful bouquet, with different flowers placed in it. Pink carnations, daisies, white heathers, white lilies, pink & yellow roses, and yellow tulips. There was also a small box in his hands.
He waited for him to be more awake and present before shoving the gifts in his arms, slightly glancing away. He wasn’t good with these kinds of things, as birthdays often gave him a bad feeling, but Odin deserved gifts for his birthday too. When he opened the small gift, a pendant in the shape of a sun was sitting right there. It was like he planned this when he picked out Leon’s gift just a few weeks earlier.
“Told you I would have brought you flowers. Didn’t exactly say it was going
to be on our date.”
Looking back at his partner, he offered him his usual, playful smirk, though it had softened to a genuine, soft smile, one that he often gave their lord. On this day, Odin deserved it too.
“Happy birthday Odin. Next time, try and not forget about it. As much
as I love taking care of you, it’s a little embarrassing for you to forget
about a day like this.”
It was his way of saying, ‘I’m glad you're here’.
