Fortress Maximus/Ultra Magnus in a fantasy setting

Knight!Ultra Magnus never expected to be let in on the kingdom-wide secret that the city was a living being from the myths. Being told that a titan was not only alive, but also wanted to speak with him, was almost too much.

Being summoned in a ritual by accident and finding out you accidentally soul bonded to each other and will die if you leave the other alone for too long.

Fortress Maximus wishes he could express himself to Ultra Magnus in a way that a normal mech could understand. He cannot. Ultra Magnus doesn’t mind, though- they have each other, and in the end, that is more than enough for him.

Sharing experiences over a bottle or two of high grade turns out to be very enjoyable when you enjoy the other persons company.

Ultra Magnus wants to go off, be alone, and forget about the war. But that would mean leaving Fortress Maximus alone, and somehow that seems worse than being by himself.
