What do you think about Freedom Planet's - Fortune Night act 2 song?

What a highly specific question out of nowhere. *stares*

Fortune Night Act 1 is most fresh in my mind because I had footage of it recorded for my GOTY stuff from a year ago, but listening to Act 2 right now…

Something to understand about me is that I’m kind of a sucker for gross soft rock guitars. Or, I guess, like… electric guitar of almost any kind. Big, loud butt rock, or the softer stuff like Fortune Night 2 has.

I actually get kind of a NiGHTS vibe from Fortune Night 2. Specifically Journey of Dreams. I know I just went on a big rant about how much I hate Journey of Dreams, but like a lot of Sonic Team games, the soundtrack is pretty dang good. When Fortune Night 2 brings in the violins and the shamisen… there’s a song from Journey of Dreams that it kind of reminds me of, but I can’t seem to find it right now.

But it definitely gives me that same sort of vibe. I get that vibe from like, Klonoa and Astal, too. That’s part of the reason I said Freedom Planet feels like a lost Sega Saturn game. It definitely evokes a specific kind of era, and a specific type of game, and I think most pixel art indie games go for very 8-bit and 16-bit style music, whereas Freedom Planet is like an old CD game, and I love that so much.
