Some of the my most memorable stories that I’ve read in the last year have come from Ryn and I fully believe that she deserves all the love and praise she gets. Even more, I think she deserves MORE because she’s truly such a phenomenal writer!
When I think of the fortunexkookie name, I think of high quality writing with worlds that you get completely absorbed in. They’re perfect and filled with so much beautiful world building that I can practically reach out and touch them. The characters are so fleshed out and fully realised that they feel like real people to you. They behave like how you would expect, even though they’re in fantastical worlds and obviously aren’t real.
On top of that, she’s really nice and super supportive of other authors and her friends! I think tumblr is definitely blessed to have such a good writer feeding us with the highest quality BTS fics and I’m an avid consumer of everything she does!

Bump in the Night - Hoseok x Reader
This remains one of my favourite Hoseok fics ever to be honest. The world is just so rich and Hoseok himself is a truly fascinating character. It’s a beautiful story that you are desperately hoping will work out well because their relationship together is so wonderful. I just adore how Ryn thought of the concept of monsters in the night that terrorise us as kids actually being real, only the monster isn’t actually mean and is actually pretty nice and caring.
On top of that, it was lovely to see that Hoseok remained an actual monster. He had features that weren’t human and sometimes could come across as quite grotesque. It was so painful to see him obviously falling in love though and then that part...that PART IN THE FIC OH GOD. I FELT LIKE MY HEART WAS BEING TORN OUT. Hoseok must have been in agony too :( I loved this version of him so much and I’m just happy about it all working out in the end. The world of monsters was also so fun and cool as well!
Trick or Treat: Howling For You - Jungkook x Reader
Okay, I love this fic because it’s such a fun play on all the tropes. Like we start out thinking that they don’t know each other only JOKE, they do and are actually dating. It’s even more amusing to see that he’s dressed up as a werewolf and she’s dressed as Little Red Riding Hood...only he’s an ACTUAL werewolf. Honestly, it was amusing to figure it all out and I love the fact that Jungkook just went along with it all. We love a sweetheart.
You kinda try and figure out whether or not they’re together, but then he’s chasing her and you’re like ‘oh damn’. BUT THEN YOU FIND OUT IT’S ACTUALLY HER THING and oh god, you can bet Jungkook finds it all twisted and amusing that it turns her on haha. And of course...the sex is top notch. But I can’t get over how he’s still a big softy underneath all that wolf haha
Lost and Found - Hoseok x Reader
As I said before, Ryn does her best work with world building in my opinion. And a close second is her character development. Lost and Found is the perfect blending of these two worlds as we get to see the MC, Hook, trying to fulfil her own goals of getting out of Neverland while coping with PTSD and trying to avoid the Crocodile, Taehyung.
All the while, she’s fending off the Lost Boys who are simultaneously sweet on occasion while being a danger all of their own and also fighting/playing with Hoseok, our beloved Peter Pan. I love how the characters are all intricate and have a lot of depth to them. She struggles with issues herself and Hoseok is basically secretly in love with her while not wanting her t get too mad. After all, if she finishes what she needs to, then he’ll never see her again :( Neverland itself is basically another character too as it’s always changing, but Ryn does such a phenomenal job in bringing the world of Neverland to life and managing to describe such intricate settings in a way that I can not only understand but visualise them!

“Seokjin! I can’t believe I trusted you!” you growl as you look around your surroundings but can’t make out where you’re at and it’s all thanks to your boyfriend and his lack of direction.
Your phones didn’t even have service anymore this far out in the woods and now you were growing worried.
“Yeah... I think we’re lost.” Seokjin admits as he looks down at the paper that held the directions Taehyung had handed out to his friends, a scavenger hunt of sorts.
“No shit, Sherlock!” You pout as you take the paper from his hands. You turn it, looking at it and rolling your eyes before setting off in the direction you had come from, only instead of going left at the fork, you go right.
Within a few yards, you can see the glow of the campfire and hear Taehyung’s rendition of This is Halloween.
“You had it upside down, dingus,” you sigh as you’re immediately tackled by Jimin, your best friend.
“Finally! You guys are the last ones here!” He exclaims as you see all your friends have made it before you. Seokjin rubs the nape of his neck, “my bad.”
“Come on, Hoseok is just about to start telling scary stories about work,” Jungkook calls from his spot.
“He works in retail,” you state.
“I know, that’s the scariest place to work,” Jungkook responds and you agree as you sit beside him with your boyfriend at your side.
Later, you excuse yourself to go to the bathroom inside the cabin you’ve rented for the weekend. You and Seokjin managed to get a room of your own and you were glad for it when you got out of the ensuite bathroom, only to be scared and scream when a masked figure appears in front of you.
“Seokjin!” You scream at him and all you hear is his laughter, shoulders shaking up and down as he takes the mask off and throws it on the floor.
“Wait til I get my hands on you,” you threaten as you approach him, cornering him until his back is pressed against the closed door of your room.
“Ooh, so scary,” Seokjin chuckles, but you pin his hands at his side and press your lips on his firmly.
“You haven’t seen anything yet, baby,” you smirk as you trail kisses down his jaw toward his neck. When his breath stutters, you know you’ve got him in the palm of your hand.
“Get on the bed,” you instruct, and he does so, tripping over his feet. You have him lay on his back before you straddle his hips. You can feel the erratic beating of his heart beneath your palms when you place them on his chest. Your hips grind on him teasingly, fingers working the buttons of his shirt to expose his chest.
Your long nails leave pink trails on his skin, you lean down, lips brushing his ear as you whisper, “am I scary now?”
This is actually a Rogue Galaxy sequel where the premise centers around our robot buddy, JK-97.

After years of living on Oricha, Hobi gets scanners working well enough to detect a derelict ship hovering close by. JK-97 volunteers to be put back in his lil robo-ball and launched like a rocket to see if he can take control and safely land the ship on the planet, or at least get it down so they can salvage.
What he doesn’t expect is that the deserted ship already has an AI on board.
Chaos ensues when it takes off with him trapped inside. He vows to make his way back to Oricha to pick up the stranded Captain and Hobi, but along the way he begins to unravel a mystery he never anticipated. He explores what it’s like to be human and the dangers of knowledge that people have tried to keep secret for centuries.

After keyboard smashing my way through all of their asks, I wanted to sit down and actually write something coherent for @ddaenggtan, @stutterfly, @fortunexkookie, and @taehyungforreal.
So I realize that it is, uh, January 15th, and this is long overdue but I hope you all will accept my love anyways. Also low key wasn’t sure where to do this but I didn’t want to force one person to have to read through all my asks again so here we are. (Apologies in advance for my poor wording my mind is just a MESS).
I just wanted to say a huge, HUGE, thank you to y’all for all of TSE. Every single fic was an absolute masterpiece and I thoroughly loved each and every one. On their own, they were beautiful, but the fact that they were all also tied in to one huge overarching storyline was just incredible. The ways in which each of the stories crossed into one another was truly just *chefs kiss* perfect. It was so, so fun to read each fic and try and figure out the timeline and see what parts might line up and get more insight into different situations based on what member I was reading. I also was mind blown at the consistency between fics in the characterization of each member (particularly Jimin and his payment LOL I smiled every time). I’m usually super excited to read any fic that any of y’all write because I think you’re all phenomenal writers, but I had an extra amount of excitement for every time something was added to TSE because of how well y’all collaborated on this. Even though every fic had it’s own ~flavour~ it still all felt like it fit into one big puzzle that was TSE. Honestly, with the way every fic fit so perfectly, it seemed like you all must’ve sat in a room together and written it all at once it was that seamless.
You know what’s not seamless? This.
AH DISJOINTED THINKING I’M SORRY I knew parts of what I wanted to say and I’m no writer so I’m just going to jump into this next thing...
I really wanted to tell you all also how much I loved the way you wrote this group of friends. I know it’s BTS, but still (obviously) the build up of their relationship comes from your words. I’m going to get a little personal and deepish on y’all, but reading this collaboration really made me FEEL THINGS. I’m the kind of person who has a lot of one-on-one friends in the sense that none of my friends are friends with each other. I’ve never had a problem with it because I love them all so, so dearly, but wow this collaboration...this group of friends...I felt myself hurting because I felt so desperately that I wanted this family that you all wrote about. The atmosphere and the relationships that you all curated made me just stop and think, “I want that.” No joke, I texted my best friend immediately after and said, “All I want in life is to be able to go to a cabin with a group of friends and just sit by the fireplace and eat fancy dinner and have a good time and I want us all to be in very loving relationships and happen to all get along and love each other is that too much to ask.” And then of course, every time a fic was posted I had to text, “Ok but cabin?” Seriously, all I want is to live out this cabin dream that y’all wrote out (preferably with BTS but it’s fine). Please. Anyways, all that personal extra stuff about me because I just want to really emphasize how much this collab means to me. And idk maybe this is taking it too seriously?? But I really loved how much this made me feel and how much it made me reflect on my own life. I think the way you all write is really powerful and made a big impact on me this holiday season (or is it last holiday season...idk it’s 2020??).
So anyways, in conclusion, thank you all so so much for your writing and for these fics in particular. I’m sure you all were very busy living your own lives so it really is so SO kind of you all to have written these fics and given the rest of us such a wonderful gift. I am a huge fan of all of you I hope 2020 is good to you.
